Hello everyone!! I hope everyone is doing ok! I have a few symptoms that I have been wondering about and wondering if anyone else experiences them. First, I feel like my heart rate goes up with really little activity, like just walking up the stairs or something, I do just little activity and my heart is pretty much racing!! I have had all the heart test done and found nothing!! Also, Im not really sure what  palpitations are but I dont have any fluttering or skipping or anything I can just feel my heart beating in my chest, sometimes when I am laying down not anxious or anything I am aware of my heart beating and its really annoying!! With this anxiety disorder is it possible to get a bunch of symptoms and not really feel like you are anxious or something?? Oh yeah 1 more thing, sometimes I get this feeling in my body kinda hard to describe but it almost like I feel shaky on the inside, like when you dont eat for a while, but you cant notice the shakiness from the outside, its like a weakness feeling or something,, ??? Sorry Its kinda hard to explain, can anyone relate to any of this????

Yep I can.

Sometimes I'll notice the heart beating or I'll check my heart rate and it's racing for no reason and then the anxiety comes on or vice versa.

I feel the shakiness inside too. There are tons of physical symptoms with our disorder.

I can definately relate.

Are you on any type of meds or anything?

It was hard for me to tell too. I started Lexepro myself only two months ago. The first month I felt shakiness but it tapered off, but my dosage was upped from 10 mgs to 20 mgs and so now I am experiencing the shakiness again.

I would have to ask how many panic attacks you had prior to the Celexa and how anxious you were, and then ask you the same questions about how you feel right now.

I know the Lexepro is working because I have only had two or three or four panic attacks in the past few weeks, whereas I was having them everyday before the Lexepro.

I also take Ativan, which is a benzo. It calms me down if I'm feeling anxious or panicky.

I have those same symptoms.  It always feels like that fight or flight reflex with no reason at all.  At those times I really try to take deep breaths tru the nose out the mouth counting to 10, it seems to help.  For me, sometimes, if I don't get it under control I end up with nausea and diahreah (?).  Lots of fun.

I have also had thes symptom, in fact those were the original symptoms that scared me so bad and now several test later its all anxiety. I remember being able to feel my heart beating in my head. Exercise will make the shakes go away, I know it sounds crazy but take a walk get active get your heart rate up (from activity) and it will get rid of the adrenaline that causes these symptoms. Try it I promise it will work. Try not to worry too much, your not alone. I will keep you in my prayers!

Angela,

Have you been to a doctor for these symptoms?  You might want to have your thyroid levels checked.  Those were exactly my symptoms a couple of years ago and I assumed they were from either anxiety or too much caffeine that day.  When I went in for my yearly physical, they did blood work and found out that my thyroid was overactive.  It would feel like my heart was beating out of my chest when I would be lying down relaxing or watching tv.  Also, I would feel shaky just lying there in bed.  It started to cause slight hand tremors in my fingers.  My handwriting turned really crappy and I had no idea why.

I'm not suggesting that's whats wrong with you, but it should be something you should have your doctor check out to be on the safe side.

Take care.

Izzy
