I am going through a rough patch at present...panic attacks..The hardest part for me is the physical symptoms..especially the painful chest..which has been so painful lately I ended up having to go to the doctor and having an ECG - nothing wrong with the heart, so that was a relief! And because I have been feeling the pain in my chest I have been applying pressure to these areas and have badly bruised myself..'just trying to hang on' kind of feeling...don't want to lose my job...or my husband..sheesh has anyone out there had these feelings?

Welcome Yes I believe we al have had this at one time or another
Instead of applying pressure to your chest try doing deep breathing exercises and relation techniques '
They do work
it might also be time to talk to your doc about something mild for what you are going thru
Post often and now you know you are no longer alone with this
be well and take care

Hi Jordan

Welcome to HW I'm sorry were having to meet under these conditions. Anxiety and panic can put our bodies thru more then what we can understand sometimes and I think that's what scares me the most. Are you seeing a dr or on any meds for this? I agree with Lyn deep breathing really helps also very hot baths to try to relax. Please keep us updated on how you are doing and please visit us in chat sometimes, there is usually someone there. To get there just hit chat above on the blue bar (Home/Calendar/Chat/Search...ect). I hope your feeling better soon.

I just bought something called The Breathing Box and it teaches breathing techniques. Yoga can also be good for learning how to breath for relaxation. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Hi and welcome to HW.
I've had the same thing as you have described. I agree with Lyn, deep breathing and relaxation helps.

Well, it's me again..I finally found my first posting here at HW..and here I am again going thru the chest pain thing and bruising myself by pressing these areas..grrr...I feel it's like a bad habit or something and cannot seem to stop just now..I know it will pass but it's just the getting through it all that is soo difficult at times!

Anyone else suffering these symptoms just now..I would love to hear from you...
