chest pressure

 As I have said in my past posts, I have anxiety and ibs. I have had a rough weekend. Thought I was having a heart attack on Friday, because of chest pressure and breathing problems. The dr gave me a cardiac stress test and a cat scan just to be sure. Everything was ok, just my darn nerves AGAIN. When will there be relief? The chest discomfort is still here as it comes and goes. HELP

I can not tell you when relief will come I also deal with chest presure. Only on my left side somtimes it feels like just a sharp pain right over my heart. then it goes away. I have had ekg and all that buisness. seems to help me if I don't think about it. But that does not happen verey often. Take care the new movie with Robin williams in it is really good and funny. may keep your mind occupied.

Hi and welcome to HW.
I used to have terrible chest pain and was convinced I was having a heart attack. Deep breathing and relaxation was a great help for me.

Hey shell, I have the same problem. It is the worst symptom of my PD. Trying to focus on your breathing helps if you can do it. I find this almost impossible at times though. If you are not on medication talk to your doctor. There are good meds out there that can help you deal with these symptoms. Dramamine is something you can get over the counter that can really help alot, depending on the intensity of the symptoms and how soon you take it. You can get it in a less drowsy formula too. I have my attacks worst when I drive. I have to take xanax to do so. I am trying to get off of it and the dramamine seems to be helping me quite a bit. Hope I have been of some help to you. I too know exactly what u mean about the chest pressure...very scarey...I am slowly learning to deal with it and deep breathing does work sometimes...distraction and focus help too..
