Hey all just to keep you all updated was diagnosed with panic disorder and am coming on very well, the key to success is exposure you can self talk all you want but exposure is where the learning curb is.I had a fear of passing out but the book i read told me to expose and allow a panic attack to happen becuse i was spending far too much time avoiding having a panic attack (which takes a lot of energy!!) and its really starting to work, ive now gone back to work after a year , there is hope but the onlyway to conquer is exposure, best of luck guys u can do it!! I have not had a panic attack now for 7 weeks becuse i no longer give it the respect and have no fear of it. cool

Yes but feeling spacy is an anxiety issue all your senses sense danger hence your eyes feel foggy and heavy and u get rapid heart beat as well as shortness of breath, im much improving, when did u start feeling like that?

I have never heard the term exposure but I quite agree with Spicegirl479.  Fighting the anxiety or being afraid of it gives it power.  When I took charge and took back the power is when everything started getting better.  No secrets from myself or anyone else that is important to me is also hugely important.  I face what is coming at me and am honest with myself about it.  The relief is like night and day.

spicegirl...thats awesome for u! when i was diagnosed with panic disorder 4 yrs ago (when i started highschool!- now im in college) i remember those 'milestones', they felt great! u will be a success, i know u will be..i found out i was braver and stronger than i ever did..in some ways i am actually glad i experienced what i experienced because it has made me such a stronger person today...its a great feeling when u can control ur anxiety. best of luck.
"It's going to be okay. Just give things a little time. And in the meantime...keep believing in yourself; take the bet of care; try to put things into perspective; remember what's most important; don't forget that someone cares; search for the positive side; learn the lessons to be learned; and find your way through to the inner qualitites...the strength, the smiles, the wisom, and the optimistic outlook that are such special parts of you. It's going to be okay. I know it will be. Because I know you." - Barin Taylor

Thanks nicole , yes i do agree with you it has been a real eye opener for me too, and it has also forced me to evaluate my life and make changes for the better, jaymay im not on medication i tried lexapro otherwise known as cipralex or escitalopram for a month didnt like it and feel much better the books by author dr roger baker and it is called understanding panic attacks and overcoming fear its 7.99 bargain!!! its very to the point which i like and tells you the raw facts which has been tremendous help.
