Having read different ones' Paxil experiences, I noticed how we all were started at different dosages. I wonder what causes a pdoc to start at one dosage strength over another? It's just weird, cuz we all are pretty dadburn anxious!

In my case it is my physician that has perscribed me paxil and am unfamiliar with pdocs and how they work.
My doc listed drugs that were available for A/P and gave me a run down of how they work and experience her patients have had while on the meds. She thought that considering my symptom and what she knows of me (have been seeing her for 9 yrs and have had loads of tests and blood work with her) that 10mg daily would work, she called it a low dose but 20mg is the usual dose. She upped the dose to 20mg two weeks later after a giant episode --two weeks later (now) thing are good--hope it stays that way.
I guess, no doubt, there is alot to take in consideration when perscribing meds for this kinda stuff, like symptoms, existing illnesses, current meds for these illnesses and perhaps chemically in your head and body what the sources of these illnesses or symptoms are and personal practise experiences.
But I also remember my doc saying 'lets try this and see how it works' ha ha.

But I have definitely thought the same thing.
