Virginal Hysterectomy

Hi All, I'm new here. I have a question. I had a virginal Hysterectomy 4 weeks ago, it hurts when i cough or sneeze. Just want to know if this is normal please.

Welcome to the site, I hope you enjoy it here, the people are very supportive and friendly. Do you also have an Anxiety Disorder???? Just wondering because you don't mention whether you do or not.

Yes it is normal to hurt when you cough or sneeze after a hysterectomy. If you are sneezing and coughing quite a bit, hold a pillow over your abdomen, it will hurt less. Have a good night and it's nice to meet you.

Hi shebig, Thank you for your warm welcome and response. I do have an Anxiety Disorder. I have been depressed for the past 8 months, I've been fighting it. Helps me to go for a walk or a drive.

Hi Lyn, Thank you for your warm welcome. I have tried the pillow and it helps alot :)

I haven't had a hysterectomy, but they had to remove my right folopian tube because of an eptopic preganacy that burst and it took me the full 8wks to recover and even about 6 mo later I was working out lifting and felt a pull where my tube use to be. I was fine of course but I definatly felt it. Hope this all puts your mind at rest sounds like after 4 wks your out of the danger zone so just take it easy and you'll be just fine.

Thank you Kittie and Daisy for your help. I go for my 6 weeks check up 21st november and will let you know the results.

Hi Lyn, I'm feeling abit better every day. 

Hi all, I promised that i will let you know the update.

Had an appointment to see my gynocolagist today. The results weren't good. The Pathology did a few tests on my uterus, which showed that i have a very rare cancer. I start radiotherapy next week (wednesday)29th November :(

Thanks Kittie hun, I'm staying positive. I really don't know what else to say, but wait and see how things go. Will let you know.

I'm so sorry to hear this news, cancer is the reason I had my hysterectomy, that was over twenty years ago. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I'm glad you are staying positive, it really helps.

Hi Judy, ty hun. I'm not religious or anything like that. But i believe we were all put on this earth to face many things and challenges. This is my challenge and i know i'll be ok

I am so sorry hun I do know what you are going thru believe me I have chosen to keep some health issues to self but I will be opening up soon ..........
You will make it hun you are strong and like I said you have us we will be on your shoulders all the way thru all of this
Count on your HW " family" in these times
I know I have had to and it had gotten me thru many challenges trials and illnesses
I will be keeping you in my heart thoughts and prayers

 hi i am to have a virginal hysterectomy in 3 days time and i am really worried.i am havind the op as i have cancer of the womb my first worry is will i come throgh it which no one can answer the second is does it hurt badly i have had a c section so is it like that??and thirdly how long will i be laid up as i am not young at 52 and with all the grandchildren will i be ok for xmas??? my husband and family are 100% with me so i have no worries there. JUST WORRIES WILL I BE OK.

You will be ok. I would not recommend picking them up, but you should be ok. You will probably be in enought pain that you will not want to travel far, but as long as it hasn't expanded into your intestine, which is sounds like it has not, you should be fine to do christmas.
