I am glad someone works for a terrific principal. I thought mine was too until about 2 months ago. Now I stay away from her as much as possible. I figured she would have a problem with me because I am on medical leave for 8 days. I just needed some time to try to get myself together and work was just making it worse. When I told her she just kind of looked and said usually they have a few days notice so they can get a long term sub to fill in for me. She also asked what was wrong which I did not say. The last thing I need is the news getting around to the children.

Then a coworker knew I was not suposed to be at work, is still calling me with work stuff. I swear I will cuss her out if she calls me again with the main thing that is causing me anxiety and depression. I know that sounds bad, but I don't want to hear it. She already bothers me with it on the weekends, can I get a small break.

This school causes too much stress. I am sure I am getting written up at this moment for medical leave. I know it is bad, but I wish I would get fired so I wouldnt have to come back the 20th.

Juat added a subject so the thread is easier to follow.

It would be really easy to say quit your job..take a break and chill out...but, I am wondering if what you really need to do is visit your doctor and talk about meds to tie you over while you are going through this rough patch + have some counselling and learn some new skills to cope with the stress factor..
Is it possible to talk honestly with the pricipal - and explain what you're going through (coz you won't be the first I am sure) and my suggestion is maybe jobsharing with the sub while you get some help...
The decision is yours of course - hope everything works out for the best and you don't feel you have to leave your job.
Take good care.

I am sorry you have to deal with this
I have the utmost respect for teachers of our youth and I feel that there has to be more than just you going thru A/P over this job
I too agree is it possible to block her calls or let them go to answering machine ..........if you have an answering machine put a little didy on there saying "sorry not available am taking some well needed time out " or something along those lines ........
Why does she have to bother you with her work stuff when you are on leave and weekends anyways??
That would really get me upset as well
Take care and Welcome to HW hope you stick around and let us get to know you
this is a fantastic support group and great caring and giving ppl here
Be well yeah

Hi Bubblyboo

Just wanted to say thank you first for your dedacation to teaching our children. I'm sorry this school is not working out for you. I do wish you will talk to a doctor about helping you so you can get back to doing something you love to do and maybe find another school to teach at.
Thank you for everything your doing and I wish you well.
(((HUGS)))
