Hey guys. Well almost two months ago i had my first and only panic attack so far. The problem is that i have yet to feel normal since it happened. I feel like im constantly out of it and it freaks me out. I feel like im stuck in this groggy super fogged up brain all day everyday. I got so worked up about it for the first weeks that i sent myself into state of dp/dr which just made it worse. Anyways im struggling because i seem to be alone on this. I constantly think to myself (two months ago- this would seem different or look different) i dont really have any other anxiety besides the fact that i feel out of 24/7 since that day. Just looking for anybody with any ideas of why this going on! Anything might help. Thanks.

Just added a subject for you.

Hi. I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling this way. Have you done a google search on "depersonalization / derealization?" I guess a lot of people with anxiety suffer with this and it sounds like what you are describing and if it is it is very normal for anxiety sufferers. I do hope you feel better.

My problem was from the chemical that I worked with, but everyday stresses can do the same, talk with your doctor about it and I hope that it is just a temp. thing for you.

Best of luck to you.

I just want to say i appreciate your replys. Anyways the only reason i had that attack was because i was just so stressed out about the things i had to do that day before i got to the airport. When i finally got there i had the attack. It seemed like it lasted for over an hour i remember just walking back in forth through the airport without being able to sit still. Is that normal? Anyways i looked up  dp/dr.I know that when i got super worked up about how weird i was feeling i definitly experienced it but i dont feel like im in a dream anymore i just feel like im drunk/stoned all day its really upsetting. I saw a doctor a couple days after the attack and he said i just had a panic attack put me on 12.5 mg of paxil and said id fell better in a week or so. But here i am now two months still feelings really out of it. Anyways thanks for your time.

don't worry you'll be fine its called derealization you can get it mid or post painic. and the drunk/ tierd feeling is emotional exsution. don't let the experience change you so much your still who you were befor the attack, get back into a steady rutine, if you think about it too much you'll exsust your self. maybe see a theripist if you still feel this way. in a month.

hope you feel better soon

yes, i had and have this sometimes as well. i think it's an after effect (kind of like post traumatic stress) of a bad anxiety attack, especially if it's the first one you have had. there isn't anything more uncomfortable than the dp/dr feeling. but it should fade. either with the help of medication, positive thinking, or simply time, you will slowly start to feel more normal again and realize it was just fear and exhaustion and all of that that was making you feel that way. maybe paxil is not the right med for you. even though paxil and zoloft and lexapro are all SSRIs, some work for some people and not others. after about 6 weeks if it's not working it might be time to talk to your doctor about trying something else. i take zoloft. lexapro didn't seem to really work for me.
