Just wondering if I am really that weird or are there others that have to have certain items when they go out, I don't go out much I do try tho sometimes I don't make it and I spend hours agonizing over going takes me an hour or more to get dressed and out the door here is my list of what I HAVE to have with me mad
 Xanax Of Course
 Water
 Cell Phone
 Paper Bag
 Nose Spray like vicks sinex
Have to hold the keys to the car in my hand (my own set my husband does the driving am not that brave to drive YET)
 Sunglasses

there is most likely more depending on where  I am going lol

 Hugs Anna

thats all fairly common but is quite OK because you are getting out, and surely that is the most important thing yeah

people hold the keys to give a feeling of being in some control, also squeezing the keys until it hurts the hand can take your mind off anxiety producing things

the long time to get ready suggests OCD, an anxiety complaint, it helps to have a detailed checklist of things to do before leaving home

many find that an insurance dose of xanax before leaving helps, with more on hand to disolve under the tongue if needed helps a lot  sometimes just knowing you have the extra xanax is enough and you dont actually need to take it

Nervymeg,

Laxatives? Do you also have an eating disorder in addition to panic/anxiety disorder. Just curious? The only things I have to have with me to go out is a drink (bad dry mouth), sunglasses (bright light gives me migraines), cell phone, and my handicapped parking tag. I think that's about it. Whether or not I can drive myself depends on where I'm going and how bad I want to get there.

Keys...wallet...cell phone...sanity (which I usually cant find much of)...is usually my check list not sure any of these are safety items but it is my list.

If I dont know where I am going I need to have my directions and have read them alot so I could practically recite them. Theres prolly more that just isnt obvious to me right now and I dont have meds so that cant be on the list.

No, no eating disorder cranky!! Just irritable bowel syndrome, I take herbal laxatives in case I have to eat out otherwise I'm not a happy camper the next morning!!  I also need to take a book so I can hide behind it if neccesary.

NervyMeg,

So glad it's not an eating disorder. IBS really sux, but eating disorders can kill you quickly.

WATER, I always have to have water.

In case, you know, I end up in a desert. LOL. No I'm just kidding, I always have to have water cuz I think I'm not hydrated enough and will faint.

(even though I drink about 6 glasses of water a DAY ahahaha)

I have to have:

my wallet
My keys
Cell phone

I try to carry as little as I have to. I feel more stress if I have a purse or a bunch of stuff to keep up with. And everything has to be able to either fit in my pocket or clip to my belt loop or I stress over it and it drives me crazy!!! However I always keep things like sunglasses, asprin, chap stick in the car at all times and extra blankets and jackets for the kids.
