The doctor has agreed to let me try topomax again to control my weight and migraines. I got off of topomax when I was going through a very stressful personal situation and it caused very scarey thoughts. I am soooo much better personnally now. He has told me to start on a very low dose and slowly build up to see if the negative thoughts are possible again. Has anybody ever been on this combo? I wasn't taking lexapro when I was on Wellbutrin/topomax.

Hi. I just went to my psychiatrist today and she took me off of Lexapro. The "news" about Serotonin Syndrome finally caught up with her. Google "serotonin syndrome" and talk to your prescribing doc. If you take triptans then you should not be on an SSRI. I take Wellbutrin. I can tell you that I took Topomax 2 times. Both times, I experienced intense anxiety. I hear from others that they feel brain dead and slow but for my chemistry is was anxiety and lots of it so if you try it again, give it 1 week and if you are experiencing those side effects again, then, like me you will know that it is the Topomax. Good luck.
