Okay, everyone knows that I'm on Paxil CR 25mg. and I take Buspar 2x a day. For the past couple of weeks or so, I've been feeling really good! But this a.m. I woke up and felt kind of anxy. I've felt "off-kelter" all day and even though my anxiety was manageable, I felt very sad (almost weepy!) that the anxiety was "hanging around"... sad I ALWAYS get scared when this happens. I didn't take any xanax and will continue to try to do w/o it. I would take it if really bad anxiety set in! Any words of assurance based on your own experiences would be greatly appreciated.
I feel like crying. I HATE to be this way! nono
I love all you guys! xoxoxo

hey there... stay strong.. you have made it through the day so far so you are doing well.. everyone has their good and their bad days. Has there been something stressing you out lately to bring this on? I go through bouts of sometimes even weeks without an attack and then i go one night and think gee its been a long time i am doing good.. and then bam that night or the next i have an attack. All i can say is think positive thoughts, and hey as a woman ya just gotta let it out sometimes.. anxoety or not at least once a month i have a "downer" day and am on the verge of bawling all day..sometimes ya do better when ya cry.. hope that helps.. take care!

Hey Janetlee,

It's tough on those days when you feel worse than normal.  Having the proper medication is a good thing.  There is nothing wrong with taking what you need to feel normal.  Why spend the whole day feeling rotten, when you could just take a xanax and feel better?  Why waste a whole day when you don't have to.  After all, that's why we have the medication in the first place.  It's not like we get a gold star or a blue ribbon if we hold out on taking meds when we need them.  There's nothing wrong or shameful in taking medication prescribed for a legitimate medical condition.  Why suffer when you don't have to?

Thanks everyone. I am wondering if I have PMS too...I'm "due" in 6 days. Blah!!!! Also, my legs have been VERY restless! YUK! I don't know what one thing has to do with another, but it's aggravating the heck out of me!
Leigh Ann,
I didn't take the Xanax cuz I felt that I didn't really need it so much...there was just enough anxiety to make me edgy, but not freak out. My pdoc will only prescribe it if I get "bad" and then only for a short time. Believe me, if things get too tough, I'll be taking the Xanax, cuz I have a stockpile of it! Also, I'd like to hope that this is a temporary setback. I was having so many good days and when the bad days come, they really get me super-down...
Lyn, I hope you are doing good! ;)
HUGS to All!

Hi Janet, I'm sorry you are feeling bad. This happens to me too -- usually when I first wake up in the morning. A couple of ideas...do you journal? I think it's important to get in touch with what you are feeling anxious about and do you have a dog? Getting up and going for a walk is a productive way to fend off the anxety. Feel better soon.

P.S. If you feel like crying - why not do it? Crying is a good way to relieve tension and cleanse the feelings out of our psyche/internal body. I'm a big baby - cry at everything. My ex never cried - not once and told me that he hadn't cried since he was in college. That's scarier than being a big baby if you ask me.

I had a very-near panic attack today (the Atenelol helps it not to escalate into a fullblown one). I was so devastated that I did cry some. I just feel so overwhelmed by life in general anymore. I was hoping that the paxil was going to do more in warding these bad feelings away. Now I'm all depressed and scared. It seems like it'll never end and I'm so tired of it all. It makes me sad, mad, and scared...all at the same time! Am I expecting too much from the paxil? When I was on zoloft for all those years, I mostly had good days with a few stray bad ones here and there. I am so up in the air...
Mom and I went to take some food to a sick friend and his wife and I almost cried all over the sick friend!!! I told him I was sorry that I was supposed to be cheering HIM up! He's bed-bound for now. I felt like a real jerk! Of course, he's as nice as can be, but I still felt bad about it.

Hmm...Janetlee you can do this..do you know how I know? Well. I'm gonna tell you anyhow lol...
You said today that you had a 'very-near panic attack'..that means that 'you' had the strength (not the meds) to over come the P/A..the meds are there to help smooth over the rough patch you are going through - all the hard work is done by you!
WOW you should be proud - not sad!
You have the technology...you are overcoming P/A's - don't be so hard on yourself :) We love you heaps!
Remember that Xmas is just round the corner and that's gonna take a toll on even the strongest person..so give yourself a break and write a book like I keep telling you lol.

Hey Janet,
I hope I didn't come across as heavy-handed. I've just seen what can happen to people that don't taken their meds as prescribed. I didn't realize that you were only taking the XANAX on an "as needed" basis. Since this feeling seems to be sticking around, maybe you should ask your doctor if your regular meds need "tweeking". Personally, I think I've taken just about every med there is for this condition at one time or another. I've been "tweeked" a lot. Feel better.

Just a thought,
Leigh Ann

Day 4 and anxiety most of the day. sad   I just don't know what's next. I'm still scared. Am dreading tomorrow. I went to health store yesterday to buy some progesterone cream, in case I'm hormonal too, and was trying to ask the young man about some supplements and started crying cuz I was sooooo tired of the anxiety. Something's got to give.

Thanks all.
