A lovely friend I have met here on HW has brought to mind a very important thing I want to share with everyone...
When I have been at a very low ebb - which has happened on a number of occasions when my life has turned to custard 'big time!' the one thing that makes me forget my troubles is my drawing..I can totally lose myself in my artwork, and actually I think my best artwork has come about when I have been 'down' as all the mixed emotions are poured onto the paper..

Does anyone else use their creativity as a means towards relaxing and feeling better?

I love to write fiction, it takes me into another person's life (one without panic!!) and I can control what happens.  It takes my mind off my woes.

I sing. I used to be a vocal leader in a contemporary Christian band. I can't wait until my life settles down enough that I can do this again. I've told my church that I would be willing to visit people in the hospital and sing them a song or two.
I also like to scrap book but haven't been able to look at pics/memories for a while...someday again.

I write, poetry mostly. I like to sing, or do different things with my hair. I have this thing for changing my hair a million different times. It makes me feel good.

I paint to relax and just get everything off my mind. It helps because the only thing I think about is what colors to use next or what shading should I add here and so on.

I love painting. hehe

I also write in a journal, and I am starting to write a book.

I used to write a lot of poetry but it isn't coming natural anymore.
