hey,

Firstly,

Step back and take a few deep breaths. They will not think you crazy. They have most likely seen much worse.

Secondly,

First session is more likely than not some sort of intake evaluation. LOTS and LOTS of questions. They will probably ask you everything from why are you there to your living arrangements to other background info. Info on parents, siblings and spouses etc. Just remember to breathe and you will be ok. They will not think you crazy.

Hopefully all goes ok and you can get some relief with therapy.

It's understandable that you would be nervous, but don't be. They talk to people all day with similiar problems or worse. I think it's a great idea that you are seeing a therapist. That's what helped me on my way to recovery. The first person I saw made me realize that I'm not crazy. You're not either. They wouldn't even admit you at the psych hospital right :-)?

Feel the fear and do it anyway. I'm proud of you for taking this step. Sometimes we have our biggest fear just before a breakthrough. If you are nervous, that's ok. Don't go in there pretending to be strong. They are their to help you so please let them. Let us know how it goes.

ok so i went to see my therapist today. first of all he is a very nice guy and pretty well straight up from what i can tell but he kept going on about how he could have all of this cured in like 4 to 5 sessions and to me that just doesn't seen possible and who knows maybe i am wrong but i don't know. it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be at all. just touch and go. what seems to trigger , what is family history, etc, etc. so any way i go back next tuesday and that is when the true treating all of this really begins. i have done well today. i went to therapist , son's christmas program at school, and to wal- mart 10:00 pm so not many people there. however i am really drained right now so it is bed time.

God bless you all
