I'm having frequent attacks with high levels of anxiety between. But I feel like my anxiety is just constant.Atleast the physical symptoms are. My head feels really weird just full and foggy like. Whenever I go into a store or anything I just feel like I'm going to fall over, like i'm walking on air? its such a weird feeling, does anyone else feel this way or am I going crazy.

When i went through anxiety years ago i used to do that and then i started avoiding stores. whatever you do dont avoid going to stores. It is just anxiety and nothing is going to happen to you. yes it is uncomfortable but it is only anxiety and panic. do you take any meds? The thing that really helped me was paxil or zoloft. I know the foggy headed feeling you are talking about to. not very comfortable but that wont hurt you either it is just the anxiety and panic to. Good luck and dont start avoiding things because they make you feel that way that is what made me agoraphobic. and then i had to retrain myself in the stores and all. good luck Barb

No I'm not on any meds. I feel crappy alot of the time so I think I might have to check into it. I'm scared to be on meds because of all the side effects, and yet I'm sick of feeling this way!

X2 on Barbs it's just the anxiety kicking in it will make you feel really out of place like that. You really shouldn't stop going to the stores it's just a feeling from the anxiety and it will past, if you do stop going agoraphoa tends to set in and you will find that you have dug yourself a deep hole

You my need to talk it over with your doctor if it's that bad and may put you on some meds for it

If it's not to bad he may just put you on valium or xanex for it it's just kind of a as needed med with little side effects.

As needed..humm..I feel like my anxiety is a pretty constant thing. I don't know how the meds work though so does taking them occasionaly help tone down the anxiety so you don't need daily meds? I'm new to the whole meds thing so sorry if I sound kinda silly!

Hi, I often find that there is no air in my lungs...especially when I am driving to work....I really feel sometimes that I cannot cope, I get so dizzy but never pass out (just feel it)...No meds help me but (I'm an exception!!) a lot of people here get relief from anti-deps and I am sure they will post and give you advice.  Best of luck, I understand..

Hello Kchicka
I don't think I have met you so welcome to HW. I see your already getting some great replys to your questions.

My dr has me on Fluoxetine for depression, Oxazepam and Trazadone for my anxiety and depression and to help me sleep. It seemed like the less I slep the worse my anxiety was and the worse my anxiety was the less I slep. I was living on 2 to 3 hours of sleep a night. I also am seeing a counsler that helps a lot too. I don't have any said affects after they got my dosage right for me. Hope this helps.

Hi Kchicka,

I have gone through periods of constant anxiety with a few panic attacks thrown in as well, so I know how you are feeling.  I also have the fuzzy, funny feeling in my head, alot.  Especially when I'm tired or have pms.  I agree that you should talk to your doctor about medication.  I take xanax (alprazolam) on an as needed basis and I haven't had any side effects except for feeling a bit more tired.  During the time that I had constant anxiety, I was taking the xanax spaced out during the day (one every 3-4 hours) for a week or so, giving myself a break from feeling anxious all the time.  After that, I was able to go back to as needed which is usually the morning and then I don't need it during the afternoon or evening hours.  Talk to you doctor and keep me updated on how you are doing.

Hi! When my A/P was really bad I felt just like you - constant high anxiety, almost like being constantly on the verge of a panic attack. I also had post-partum effects thrown in. Paxil is what wound up working for me. That and therapy for CBT, relaxation and self-hypnosis. I took xanax once many years ago when I first started having panic attacks.

Talk to you doctor. Even if you dont go the med route, I strongly suggest therapy.

Hope you feel better soon!
Karen

Has anyone tried MoodGym online program?I finished it in 2 days and it didn't really do anything for me? It had an anxiety quiz that you did each time but my anwsers for the quiz were always the same"level-high range". Has this worked for anyone else? Is this what CBT is like?
