I would talk to your doctor about it. I take Xanax as needed.

I take 5 mg or 10 mg Valium but I have taken as needed for yrs
You could break one in half or use them to sleep

Hi weedy if spaced out you  a re obvously taking too much, reduce the dose

both meds are of the same type and both relax the muscles

IMO these meds are very useful but are better taken only as needed

xanax lasts a shorter time than V

look for cheaper generics of both

could your wife massage your tense muscles, they can usually be felt with the hands, use any warmed vegetable oil, get a book on home massage

also helps to learn new ways of relaxing and calming yourself, also take long walks if you can

I have a 30 day rx for xanax and only take it as needed.  My doc gave me .5 mg and I split those when I need it and a 30 day will last me almost a year.

I had valium when i had my eye surgery recently and it knocked me out.  I can function on xanax a bit better (or rather stay awake)

Hi and welcome Weedy, as Harry said valium lasts longer, but xanax tends to be stronger IMO.  Reduce the dose...massage sounds like a good idea.  I've been on both meds overthe years and found valium best for day to day functioning. I hope we can help you with any other issues.
