A friend gave me 30 10mg Lexapro and I'm wondering about making the swicth from Zoloft? I'm fine with the zoloft but i'm just about out of pills.

Any info on the side effects, what dose i should take, will the zoloft withdrawal be lessened because the lexapro? i'm in the middle of law school finals so i dont' want to screw with my brain too much.

i've been on zoloft for about 10 years and my doctor (free-ish clinic) won't refill my scrip until i've been seen again which i can't do until after Jan 1.
i take 50mgs of zoloft....

thanks!!

I want to first welcome you and
please ask you to go to the ER or find the replacement doc for your doc they should not let you be outta that med when you have been on it so long
Taking other ppls meds is not recommended as you know and I am sure it would not benefit you in the long run
Just my opinion....
Take care and PLEASE keep us posted

Thats a good idea because the w/d can be dangerous as well
I think you will get more bees with honey so to speak but still be firm and explain your situation

How about the pharmacy will they advance till doc see you if you explain
I know mine is good for this for a couple of days ( have for 5 days actually advanced me meds ) I have dealt with them for 10 yrs and they know of all my meds and Illnesses I have and deal with
I sometimes forget I am in Ontario Canada and we have coverage for docs tests and ER visits
So sorry to have you deal with this
take care and let us know

well the prb is the pharmacy is in the clinic -- they give a discounted rate to low income patients. so that's a no go. i guess i need to call and talk to someone in administration or something.

Hi. Welcome to HealingWell. Have you talked to your doctor about this yet? You need to tell him that this is unacceptable. I lost my wallet with my prescription for Wellbutrin in it and called my doctor for a new one and she said "I don't do that." I told her that was unacceptable. She wrote the RX. You shouldn't need to threaten them. How long have you been taking the Zoloft? Do you have a friend who can pick up an RX from the doctor on your behalf? I want to warn you about switching cold turkey (without weaning off). You don't need that right now as you said.
"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen."
