What are you looking forward to this holiday season?

I know that many of us here are feeling anxious and perhaps panicky about being in situations that are uncomfortable.. (I know I am)... but we have to focus on the things that we are looking forward to about this holiday season (Christmas, Hannukah, New Year, ETC)

Remember to breathe and smile friends :)

What I'm looking forward to:

*My sister coming home from Utah.  I haven't seen her in 2 months

*The family getting together and having a fun time

*Seeing the looks on everyone's faces as they open their gifts

*Getting the camera out and taking a ton of pictures

*Eating til I can't eat anymore!!!!

*Leftovers!!! hahaha  I'll be eating for days and stuffing myself silly

*Finishing up the Xmas presents I'm painting for family

*Seeing people I haven't seen for quite a while

*Having a good time and trying to ignore the panic

Remember, we can still have fun, but if we need to, I'm sure we can all find a place to just escape for a moment and breathe... if need be...

We are NOT a panic disorder or anxiety disorder, we just have it.  During the holidays we could perhaps wrap it up and toss it in the dumpster for a few hours (per se)...

(easier SAID than done!!! I know.. but we can try)

*HUGS TO EVERYONE*

Happy Holidays!!!

I am looking forward to visiting a friend in Colorado. It's snowing there and it's 70 here so I'm gonna freeze my butt off. I am doing christmas with my son tomorrow night and am looking forward to that. I'm not looking forward to flying but I have my Xanax and I am flying non-stop so there's no changing planes to deal with.

I would like to remind everyone to try to not let the stress of the holiday get to you. Stop and breath deep and think of something funny if you get too tense. Family get togethers can be stressful so take care of yourselves. Happy Holidays!

Great thread Twiggygal!

I am really looking forward to receiving a phone call from my very close friend "Sally", who I haven't spoken to 3 months.  (We met on a trip and have emailed each other every other day or so, but this will be the first time we've actually spoken to each other, since we met!)  It'll be a great Christmas present!  :)

I'm also looking forward to enjoying my time off!  (After tomorrow, I don't have to go back to work until next year!)

I'm looking forward to getting a real tree and decorating it!  I can't wait!  :)

I'm looking forward to baking cookies.

I'm looking forward to wrapping presents and sending out Christmas cards.

Lastly, I'm looking forward to surprising my family with making an appetizer of my own - crab cakes!!!!

This is a very nice thread.

I am thankful, that I will be able to spend some time with my family.  Even though it's very dysfunctional, I cherish my siblings.  We have helped each other through the years.  They are my greatest support.  They each suffer from anxiety and depression also.  Our father was an alcoholic and use to abuse my mom, me and my siblings on a daily basis.  We all have issues to this day because of it.

I am thankful that they are all doing very well.  They are managing to move on with their lives.  They are happily married with children.

Happy Holidays Everyone.  Life is good.

Beth

I'm looking forward to all my adult son's and all my grandchildren being here this christmas. It has been a few years since we can all be in one place together.

I'm also looking forward to spending the next 2 months with my niece and her 1 year old daughter because her husband had to go back to Irac and now she's not spending christmas at home alone.

I am so happy to see all the newbies we have here with us and would love to send you all a BIG welcome to our lil HW family.
