Hello all,

Do you have some best practices or some references for treating hypochondria (fear of illness)?

I am now afraid of a disease, although I have been told that it's impossible to have it.

Thank you,
Lucian.

Hi there
The only thing I would suggest is that you know you cannot have this Disease so start thinking and doing things that keep mind off of it
CBT is good for helping change your thinking patterns
Most ap'ers have Health Anxiety I dont think of that as hypochondria
Read more of the posts here and look towards a happy and helthy 2007
for us all
Glad you found us and now you are not alone
God Bless

Hi luci balaj, I know it's hard to belive that you don't have a disease when you have an anxiety disorder. You want answers and you what them now but you really need to know that your doc has all readly ruled them out as that is there job, and know that anxiety dose mimic alot of diseases with it's symtoms but they to have more to it then anxiety symtoms and they can tell it in most of your blood work and other symtoms and would have done more testing for it.

Please just try to remember you don't have a disease it's just the anxiety in you making you think that way, yes it dose have some horable symtoms with anxiety disorders and p/a's but that's just it and they won't hurt you but it dose play havic on your mind take care and have a happy new year.
