Not sure if this is the place to post but I couldn't find a new persons thread. I was told by a friend of mine that this was a good site for Anxiety and Panic Attacks. I have been suffering with Panic attacks for a couple years now.Has anyone elses PA's come and gone? Last year I seemed to be over it, I was working good, driving by myself, going out, and now for the past 4 months I seem to have taken a nose dive. I have anxiety all day long, worry all the time and my symptoms have been changing. I have insomnia(sp), can't eat well, and just feel freaked out all the time.Sometimes I feel weak and crappy even though I'm not having a panic attack, is that just general anxiety or does anxiety make anyone else feel like that all day? I wake up in the morning thinking about health issues and go to bed at night thinking about the same things. I think I'm cracking up. Whenever I have gone to the Dr. or to the ER with chest pain (which I get a lot) they tell me it is anxiety and give me some meds. Everytime anything happens I get that response. I seen my DR about the insomnia and they gave me sleep medicine but I'm scared to take them. I am in medicine so I know all about CBT, meditation, medicine, causes and effects and still can't seem to get a grip on this.I can help other people just fine, just darned trying to help myself. Sorry it is so long just needed to get this off my chest.

Hi btfnvy and Welcome to HealingWell. I'm sorry that you are struggling. Yes, anxiety and emotions can wear you out. Since you've tried all of the techniques, it's hard to know what to recommend. The CBT is really helpful and needs to be ongoing. What are your hobbies? I find that when I'm doing something that I like, I don't worry as much. Are you seeing a psychologist on a regular basis? It sounds like you are experiencing a lot of anxiety at this time -- more than usual. You need sleep, so why not try at least a half pill to start? Sleep is a healer so you have to make choices and pick the lesser of two evils (so to speak). I recommend that you take the sleeping pill. Do you have nutrition bars? When I'm anxious food feels like cardboard but you need nutrition or you won't get better. Please take care of yourself. God bless.

I know it's got too be hard for to fully understand even with you being in the medical field but to feel it frist hand like that it makes it even more unbeliveable even with all the Ed you have on it, but that dosn't make you feel better your scared of it because you really don't have control over it. you can't sleep, eat and you feel out of control but let me tell you that we all have been there and for those of us we have come to an understanding with it and when you go to the ER with the chests pains that these are probaly panic attacts you are having. being in the medical field you must know that the CBT's do help but it's a matter of finding the right one for you with low side affects and belive me they really do help

Just keep with us and you will learn more about anxiety and how to deal with it I think that this site has help me out more and more on dealing with my anxiety and panic attacks and you can feel free to ask anything about it and get the answer you are looking for

  And wellcome To HW

Thanks so much for all the replies. Knowing other people know what it feels like is comforting. Its so crazy when I have scary thoughts because I know that they are irrational. I did a term in the Army and never had anxiety even when I was put in positions that would make a non anxiety prone person freak. It all stems (I think) from the fact that I can not come to grips with my own mortality. I do not like not being in control of my own fate so to speak. Anyway thanks again and I look forward to participating on this board.
