just wondering if any of you have this problem.  My anxoiousness is at its worst first thing in the morning which is strange being that I havent' been awake working myself up.  Than come evening I am so much calmer.  What I wonder is if the meds kick in later and wear off right before I am suppose to take it again and maybe I should take it at night.  I know they say that it should be steady in your system but they also say if it stimulates you too much too take it in the morning so you get a good night sleep so I wonder if it is at different levels throughout the day.  Make any sense at all.  Or am I not taking enought to keep it level all the time.  any input helps, by the way, I take 10 mg of lexapro in the morning.

Thanks so much,

Hi scaredycat
Mornings are never my best subject when I am in P/A mode or running on a 'low'...for some reason when you wake everything bad floods into your brain - a really 'icky' feeling for sure!
I find this is a good time to either jump out of bed and try repeating to yourself "I don't care! I am just gonna get on with my day!" - kinda thing lol, or try some deep breathing exercises and see if that calms the anxiety.
You mention that by the evening you are feeling much calmer - and that's great because you have managed to get through the day and not dwell on the 'ick' feeling - well done!
This whole morning thing will pass scaredy..and you will be fine...it's the only bonus about anxiety - it does go Away - thank goodness!
Also wondering how long you have been on meds, coz they do take a while to kick in, and if you have been on them for a while and you feel you are not getting any relief from them it may be a good idea to go back to your doc and review them.
Take good care.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all your responses.  Jaymay, no no weight gain on lexapro and seems to be helping but I think I might need a little dosage adjustment as I seem to be having a bit of a hard time adjusting after the holidays and with the long winter ahead with not much to do to keep my mind busy but for the most part it is better than it was so I know it is working.  Also, not sure why you are asking if you are going to start it or already have.  Hang in there with it if it is giving you side affects, I had a hard time the first few weeks but then they subsided and the medicine really started to help the anxiety though the first few weeks it actually increased it.  You will hear alot here some good some bad but really it is just trial and error and what works for some may not for others so hang in there and I hope you are feeling better soon.  As for weight gain also, long walks will help with that and also your mood if you do have that problem but like I said I didn't may have had a little but nothing to do with the med just my inablility to resist those christmas cookies.

I check the site regularly so if you have any other questions I will be happy to help.

Lyn, know how you feel we don't have snow though I wish we did , just grey days, does nothing for my mood.  I am hanging in there. The mornings are a little better now that my daughter is back in school and gets up with me.  Just a little set back though, her dad (who does not live with us anymore) is not being nice again and she doesn't want to see him anymore.  really long story but long and short is he is emotionally abusive to both of us.  I am scared of him but actually made an accomplishment this morning and told him I was done letting him control us and he wasn't going to see her til he could start acting like a father, actually the first time I stood up to him as I usually just do what he tells me. I think it is time for me to get myself together and stand up to him and let the cards fall, eventually they will anyway.   Wish me luck I may need it.

Hope all of you are doing well.
