Does anyone find that their anxiety is far worse at night- after work, or after the day is over?  I am somewhat calm during the day, but at around 8 p.m., I feel my anxiety getting really bad.  I am also thinking I may be having Xanax withdrawl. I have been taking one 3 mg XR Xanax before bed(for sleep) for a long time, I don't take any Xanax during the day.  I am afraid what is in my system is wearing off during the day and I am experienceing withdrawl at night.  It may just be that after a long day of work(stress)  my anxiety level becomes very high, like it catches up with me.  Does anyone find increased symptoms at night?

Definitely. Too much time to think and all that... There have been a couple threads along these lines the past few days.

Can you reduce your xanax dose (many here seem to take .25/.50) and take it after dinner, or did doc want you off? I'd let him know whats happening...

Good luck!

I know that I'm a morning person in general, and my outlook is always better after a night's rest.  Once I start getting tired (anytime after about 3pm) my patience level decreases, and I tend to see everything in the worst possible light.  Once I figured that out about myself, I was more able to say "OK, things will look better to you in the morning, and all this will be less overwheming"

I take Klonopin in the morning and I seem to get more anxious later in the afternoon. I don't want to increase my med, so I use coping techniques and get by allright. The big thing I am noticing now is I seem a little dazed and confused during the day, which may also mean I am building a tolerance to my med.
