I have had a rapid hearbeat for probably the last 9 years, i am 24 years old and have every test you can possibly think of and no doctor can tell me whats wrong. My heart beats fast after i eat, and when i wake up in the morning and it makes me out of breath constantly, it always feels like i just got done running a marathon, it also causes me to have shortness of breath. I am on toporol xl to slow my heart down and it use to work but stopped. What can i do? Please help, this is really stressing me out. Is their a chance that it could be caused by anxiety or stress?

do you take anything for anxiety? That could be part of the problem?

welcome

since the docs cant find anything else, assuming its from anxiety the basic cure is simple, teach yourself to accept and ignore it and it will stop

your continual worry and monitoring of it is what keeps it going nono

your heart problem is wuite common for anxiety sufferers, who all need to accept and to then ignore what their bodies are doing yeah

toprol is a beta blocker which will help if the dose is right, find out the usual dose range and ask doc about upping the dose

the human heart was never designed to be listened to, checked up or monitored, it works best when ignored, it needs no help from you at all, remember it works fine by itself every night when you sleep

also you should breathe deep and slow, and avoid rapid shallow panting
