Is anyone else out there having anxiety attacks, or hyperactivity episodes, but without a known cause?

I'm not depressed, have a great family, spouse is a joy, no problems with the kids (empty nester), my job while boring isn't stressful, my finances are fine, etc.   I can't find any reason for these hyper active bouts, but when they come on, I swear Im going to fly through the roof because of all the energy I have.

Right now Im typing this and my legs are bouncing a hundred miles an hour.  I'm not on any meds, (except Lorazepam which I only take at night every few days if I can't sleep).  I exercise constantly at home, deep breath and meditate at work and home, eat good food (fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc.).  My sleeping has been good, except for hearing my paper delivery guy at 4:00am every morning...

I do get migraines, but they seem to be the side affect of this hyper activity I've been having.

Could it be a lack of stress?  Or boredom?   Or a menapause thing?  (I'm 43)....

Any thoughts out there??

Yep, I've talked to the Dr (family Dr) about it, ran tests, and everything came back negative. Given the quick onset of the crud (it came on like the flu before Thanksgiving), the Drs are thinking either a slow moving virus or menopause (or should I say Andropause).. The next step, if the headaches and anxiety continue, is to see a neurologist.

Sorry to hear about your fatigue. Its weird, but I actually tired, but my mind keeps telling my body to go, go, go. Definetely a chemical thing going on somewhere...

Have you had Thyroid tested you have said all tests but I was wondering .........
I am a hyper person by nature and with a/p it make me only moreso .......
I do take ativan or diazapam only if I need to ........no ssri's because I am on so bleeding many other meds for pain and crohns and other med problems but I do know others have gotten great success with AD's
You may need to check inot some kind of AD to help you with htis as well as CBT relaxation exercises ect
I mentioned the thyroid as it will cause hyper or or ppl to become tired out ealiy
Ms Kittie has already told you about HW so I will just add my welcome and tell you to stay with us .......

Take care

Ive been tested for thyroid, hepatitis, lymes, mono (twice), strep, creatine, seratonin levels, anti nuclear, a complete BC, MRI of head, low testosterone (which it was..but within the std limits), ...and all were considered negative.

By ADs, Im assuming you mean anti depressants?  If so, no, not interested.  Ive talked with a MH therapist twice in 6 wks and he's amazed at how well Im doing now compared to 5 weeks ago.

For the most part, if it wasn't for the hyperactivity and headaches, (and occasional facial flushing which I have right at this moment while typing), I would say that Im pretty much back to normal.  I honestly feel as though any anxiety is the byproduct of something physical going on.  But the regular family dr has run out of ideas.

I'm going to wait another week (next week marks 3 weeks with the new eye glasses prescription, 8 weeks of no aspirin/acetominophen/ibuprofen; and 10 weeks of the continual headaches), and then I'm going to sch an apptmt with the neurologist for further testing.
