I think I'm finally noticing a difference. After no luck with Zoloft and Lexapro I have been on Prozac for about three months. I am up to 80 mg and I can finally notice a significant change in my mood. I have felt better for a while but the anxiety, my main problem, had not budged. For the past three days I have taken only one instead of two mg of Xanax in the morning. Today, although my stomach is quite queasy, which is the main symptom of my anxiety, the other symptoms seem better. I took a Dramamine with the xanax and I think it helped. I'm HOPING that I can get off the xanax in a week or two. I don't want to be on it for life, which I thought I was going to be. I also feel more energetic which is a plus. This roller coaster ride of AD meds is really tough, so I surely hope this improvement is not temporary. I have only suffered from this chronic anxiety for two and a half years. I can't conceive of what it's like for the ones out there who have fought it for many years.
Thanks for "listening" and wish me luck!

antidepressants can sometimes help for both depression and anxiety but its not easy to find 1 that helps with both

I never managed to

the xanax would be better taken twice or 3 times a day as a dose doesnt last long, doc should have told you eyes

try eating low GI foods, these give the stomach a good work out and keep it busy, beans, etc

Please do talk to your doc if you intend to up your dosage of xanax okay
It would not hurt to take the Dramamine along with other meds .......
Valium is not always the answer for everyone
IMHO
Yes it is good and has uses but it also works along same line as meds you are on

Hello Jzz

I'm so happy you have seen some improvement in your health with your meds. Have you tried reading on the Anxiety fourms there is a lot of great information there and members that might can point you in the right direction. Please post often so we know how you are feeling.

Being happy doesnt mean everything's perfect. It means you've decided to see beyound the imperfrctions!God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but HE did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears & light for the way
