Does anybody ever get that nervous chest feeling it is hard to explain but it feels horrible. Also I was taking toporol xl 25 mg and it was working great for the palps and then when I got my prescription filled they gave me a generic. now the palps are back do you think it is the change to a generic beta blocker or do you think it needs to be higher dose? Does anyone know the dosage used with beta blockers for anxiet?

Also I just wanted to add with my anxiety I go from one problem to the next at first it was shortness of breath lasted about 6 mos then it  was chest pains so I thought heart problems then it was headache lasted a whole month got a cat scan it was fine and then that got better now it is the palps again I just can't catch a break and it really sucks.

I have had blood tests, catscans, stress tests, ekgs, chest x rays asma testing my husband gets pretty frustrated with me sometimes. oh and even the scope test down my throat when does the worry end?

Thats the thing with anxiety its always changing which makes it so hard to bet, because the fear that this is something "different" has you running back to the Dr again and again. My anxiety changes from chest pain, palps, throat, headache, stomach, etc. The dosages should be kept the same weather its a generic or not. Also the dosages change on why you take it, what med it is etc. It might be that you anxiety is worse because your thinking about it or it might be you need to change meds. You do know though that palps themselves (unless you have been diagnosed with abnormal heart arrithmia which it sounds like you weren't and don't have considering the test you have been through) are harmless. I would just call and ask the DR. about changing the dose or meds if they are very bothersome.

Hello Panicy one

I'm sorry your having these problems and the change from name brand to ganeric. There should be no differance in the meds at all but I have a cuz that on one of her meds she can't take the ganeric brand. If the other med was helping you why did they change it to ganeric? I would call my dr to find out why. Hope this help and you start feeling better soon.

I feel for you. My heart shakes, flutters and skips from time to time. It drives my husband crazy because I keep obsessing and asking him if I'm ok. It's funny that mine usually happens when I'm thinking about it.

Hang in there. You will be in my prayers.

Thanks for the quick responses. MsKitty I had samples at first and then I got a prescription for some reason the pharmacy always gives a generic if there is one The same goes with my zoloft.
