Anyone Else Ever Feel This Way

  Everytime something good is about to happen in my life I get really really scared and my anxiety and panic are at a all time high, my husband (bless Him) for my birthday planned a trip to Mrytle Beach and got Tickets to see Taylor Hicks and Legends.Thats like a 1100 mile drive one way, once I get on the road I know I will feel better sure I will have panic and sometimes all day anixety where I just lie in the back seat of the car, but my real problem is the weeks leading up to leaving, I feel like I can never have any thing good happen in my life without having something bad happen first, so for the last week it's been a constant thing cant breath dizzy ect.the fear is overwhelming,like I am just waiting for the bad thing to happen.Does anyone else ever get this? we are leaving on Feb 25th I cant even imagine feeling this way for the next 3 weeks I want to go to bed and stay there. Sorry for ranting I just want all this panic, anxety and fear to stop

go back and see my post on car driving problems, assuming you will be a passenger ask him to make frequent stops and get out, walk around and cool off and relax

worry that somethintg bad will happen sounds like OCD, an anxiety related condition, a self help book on overcoming worry also would have useful advice

also you seem to have antuicipatory anxiety about the event, this is common when faced with having to do anything different, we like a steady routine

I strongly suggest you commit yourself to going and dont cancel at the last chance

recovered former longtime anxiety and panic attack sufferer and helper of other sufferers  but no training or  qualifications in medicine or psychology, any remarks that may be taken as advice must be confirmed with doctor or other health professional
emails are welcome but do mention healingwell to avoid risk of deletion as spam

I'm not sure if what I feel is the same but, I wake up in the middle of the night and my heart is racing....worrying about bills. I feel like they are going to come to my front door and take me in..its a horrible feeling.

It's very important to fight the anxiety and panic by doing things you're afraid to do. When I've been freaking out and panicky, I make myself do it because confronting your fears is the only way to ultimately get well.

Of course, medication is very important too and this is where the SSRIs often help.

It's important to challenge this panic if you want to beat it.  Just put your foot down and say "I'm going and there is nothing that is going to stop me".  Try thinking of your "panic" as a small annoying child.  Put a lampshade over it's head, stick your tongue out at it.  Tell it to go bug someone else.  I know this sounds really silly but it helped me when I knew I had to have surgery in three months and started panicking.....I made it through!!!! I had the surgery.  If panic knows it can't stop you, it will go away.

Honey I think we all go thru this at one time or another. You have already recived some great advice here. Try a few days a week to go get something special for your trip like a magazine one day, flip flops for the beach one day ect...and tell yourself every time you buy someting this is for my trip I'm so excited about going on with my husband this will hep you get ready and looking forward to the trip. Be sure to purchase some items to keep you busy in a car like word surch puzzels and when doing these time yourself to see how quick you can get these done will keep you mind off of all the driving and yes take pleanty of stretch breaks they really do help.
