On 12/20/06 I went to the doctor complaining about a weird sensation in the back of my hand and right foot. He suggested and MRI to rule out MS. Since that day my life and emotions have been spiraling out of control. after that first visit I have been having these strange tingling sensations mostly in my right hand, foot, and head. They seem to come and go, and I have noticed foot and and hand pain on the right side as will. Nothing dibilatating but not nice either. I am constantly afraid to pick things up out of fear of dropping them even though I have had no lose of strength. I Finally had the MRI on 12/29/06 and the results were normal. That seemed to help for awhile, but then I started reading about other diseases like ALS and Lupus and things started getting bad again. I have been to my GP about 10 times in the last month. He seemed to think it was all stress and anxiety, but agreed to send me to a Neuro. I explained to the Neuro how I was feeling and he said flat out no to the ALS concern because it supposedly dosen't manifest like this. He also said the clean MRI made MS an Unlikely issue at this time. I have had numorus blold tests all have come back normal except my Somewhat low B12 level 190. According to the DOC it was not clinically low but he put me on 1000mcg of b 12. I have not noticed any Changes. In the last few weeks I have been starting to get headaches which I chalked up to a sinus issue and the GP seemed to agree. Then I noticed that one pupil was larger than the other and floaters in the one eye (Possibly my entire life). I have been to two Eye Doctors and both have said my eye health was good. My visual field test was normal, the nerves looked good, and floaters and the slightly enlarged pupil could be considered normal for me. My problem now is I can't help but think I have a brain tumor even though the MRI for a Month ago says not. I do consider myself an anxious person and I do think I have a social anxiety type disorder as well as some hypochondria. My problem is they have never manifested like this before and it is really scaring me. I am at my wits end and no one I talk to understands what I am feeling. Every morning I wake up sick to my stomach, My sleeping patterns are being disrupted as well and I believe I have started having panic attacks. May be I have a physical problem may be I don't. At this point I don't know what to think anymore I feel like I am in vicious cycle of read the disease have the symptoms. By the way I have another MRI scheduled for latter this month. Thanks all for listening.

The mind is a powerful thing, get your 2nd MRI done and when it comes back clear you'll know that there's definitely nothing serious wrong with your health.

A lot of the symptoms you've explained can be anxiety related and a bit of a therapy and relaxation techniques may be helpful.

I think most of us at one point have had the full range of tests hoping to find a physical cause behind our health problems.

Your symptoms can definitely be anxiety related. I think too the fact that your symptoms subsided after the test "put your mind at ease" and then increased when you started worrying about them again tilts the scale towards anxiety.

Get the tests done if it will help put your mind at ease. Dont put off learning CBT (cognitive behavior therapy) and relaxation techniques. There are on-line resources if you are not comfortable seeing a therapist. I personally feel the on-on-one approach works best for most people (it was invaluable for me).

There are also meds if the anxiety/panic is too bad. There is alot of info on A/P disorder on the net. I have found the Mayo Clinic site has some really good info. But stay away from googling your symptoms, it will drive you nuts! Trust in your doctors and the test results. "Treating" the anxiety willl not hurt you and will most likely help.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Yes, thank you all for your support. It helps knowing you are not alone. I went to my first Therapy appointment today. I laid it all on the table for her. She agreed that I have been suffering from anxiety for quite some time and it isn't helping my current situation. I had been taking lexpro for a week in early January but it was making me so tired. My doctor has now prescribed a generic form of paxil that I am going to start taking so we will see how that goes.
