I was just wondering what kinds of jobs/careers people who deal with anxiety have. I am a knowledge engineer for a University. It's a pretty good job because I can set my own hours, work from home if I need to, and the people I work with are really nice. I have a lot of leeway in what I can do, so if I need to be at home working quietly, I can. I graduated from University with my Undergrad in the spring and over the summer I tried another job that was 9-5 and it was a nightmare... if I was feeling crappy or whatever, I had to call in sick and it just pissed them off... so that job didn't last long, I just quit. Then I went back to this job at the University, which I should never have left in the first place (I had been a research assistant for them as an undergrad) and they gave me more money and a better position. So I guess I just always wonder how someone with my anxiety can handle a rigid position.

So what kind of jobs do you have? Do you have a job? How do you like it, if you do?

something where you work from home, I guess, but reducing your anxiety levels with meds and CBT isnt hard

I have an associate degree in mechanical engineering and I am a mechanical drafter/designer.  I also have crohn's disease and it causes more problems with work than my anxiety does.  If the anxiety is bad at work a take a half a xanax.
