Well, we leave Wednesday for Florida.  I got some xanax from my doc to get thru flying - the rx is for .5 mg.  I am wondering if I should try half a tab to start with.  I want to be calm, but not a zombie!  Will it be just as effective if I take 1/2 to start then the other half if I need it?

Dont know if there is any correlation, but rx pain meds really throw me for a loop (last time I had oral surgery I took what he gave me and was OUT for a good 3-4 hours!

Other than the flying bit, I cant wait to get away for a few days.  Wish me luck!!  cool
Karen

Since it sounds like you are sensitive to meds, I would try taking half first...you can always take the other half later. I'd wait about half an hour to see if it's working or not. I take half of a .25 and it always seems to work for me and I'm quite sensitive to meds as well. Best of luck with your flight and have a great getaway!!!

I got to agree with Junebug Karen on the xanax and I hope you have a great time in the warm sunshine as I'm freezing my butt off LOL Have fun and be well.

Try taking half of one now so you know how you will react to it then. Xanax does work fast so you should be ok taking a little then more if you need it later.

I actually flew and didnt panic!!! Took half a .5 mg xanax before each flight and only had a twinge or two of nervousness. I was actually able to look out the window and enjoy the scenery (before rising above the clouds). Take-off and landing were like anticipating the thrill/fear of a roller coaster.

I am truly proud of myself (even if I did take the xanax!).

PS had a great time in Disney - but exhausting!

Thanks guys!  It was a big achievement for me.  Cant believe how "freeing" it feels to have conquered that hurdle.

Take care,

Karen

Yes clearing hurdles is freeing. Just remember to keep taking baby steps...If you dont continue hurdling youll fall back into it.
