I am 28 and have come to the realization that I have been struggling with Stress and Anxiety my entire life, but recently things have been really bad and I can't seem to get past the feeling that something is physically wrong with me. In the past it was more of a social phobia issue that passed once the event passed, but this medical thing is really getting to me. I am currently in therapy and now taking medication, but was just curious to know how others have been able to tell them selves that the feelings and sensations they are experiencing are just stress and anxiety? Basically when is enough enough with the doctor visits and tests? I am at the point now were tests are being done over and my only option is to scrap all my doctors and get new ones. I want to believe it is just stress and anxiety but right now life is a hard and lonely place.

Has anyone every felt like they strained a muscle in their leg from constant foot tapping from being anxious?

I am sure you can strain a muscle by doing that constantly and hard enough
Yes I think many go thru what u are going thru
When I started worrying about constant pain in tummy and bowel problems( blood in it ) as well as breaking out in sores that were literally eating my skin to the bones and muscles I approached my ( old doc) suggessting I should be checked for crohns BUT he insisted without tests that " I did not present self as a crohns person..........
I left him found another doc thank God and yes I have crohns and the skin disorder is related to that ...
Alot of us have health anxiety but sometimes what we feel is real and should be followed thru IMO .
I would suggest another doc
BTW what is it that is going on within you
Can you be more specific
Thanks and take care...........
There is no shame in having Anxiety or panic attacks.....

This is one of my earlier Posts, But I to Have recently noticed blood in stool. Not to be gross, but I am inclined to think it is from stress medication, and diet resulting in consipations and large bowel movements. I have never experienced skin sores. Anyway this is just my most recent health related concern. I am waitng to hear from my doctor.

Symptoms:
Tingling/Burning in Right Arm, Leg, and Head(Face).
Constant Shoulder and Neck tension (especially at work)
Jaw Pain and temple pain. ( I thought I broke my jaw Yesterday it cracked so loud)
Pressure in my Head (Not bad)
Ears popping and Ringing
Right Eye feels gritty (Both eyes red)
Constantly taping my feet or moving my legs. ( Tired Legs and sore knees after sitting for awhile Gee I wonder what that is from)
Can't seem to get a full night sleep lately (waking up an hour or 2 early on average and can't get back to bed because my mind starts racing.
Can't concentrate at work.
Random Joint cracking.
Panic Attacks.
Lately I have felt really Jittery (teeth chattering), jumpy, and twitchy ( Not sure if Citalapram or anxiety)
My Best symptom though is My uneven Pupil size. (Google that terrifying symptom) The two Eye doctors I went to said it was nothing, My GP didn't notice until I told him even though he looked at my eyes all 10 times I was in to see him. MY Neuro said it is Transient Anisocoria without even seeing me. Had an MRI Which the Radiologist said was normal. IE no Nerve damage or Brain Tumor. They all seem to think I am one of the 20% of the population that this is normal for. Good thing I have Anxiety to boot. Nothing like a scary symptom and Anxiety. The Eye doctor mentioned that this could be caused by some anti depressants, but do you think I could find anything to substantiate that.

I want to Believe that the Neuro, GP, 2 Eye doctors, Chiro, and Therapsit are right and this is all anxiety. But it is so difficult. It seems like every week I am getting something New to worry about. I don't know if the citalapram is working or causing symptoms, but I feel like I have invested to much time to start over with a New medication. I am caught in this vicious cycle of constant tension and worrying. Does anyone else have anxiety symptoms on a daily basis. It is like every morning I wake up and my mind goes straight to the scary, fearfull, anxious, Nervous place and I can't seem to get out.

Anxiety will tear you limb from limb. Your body will respond to it in many surprising ways, and it's not surprising that you've developed such a range of symptoms. You haven't said how long you've been treated for anxiety itself. Has it been months? A couple weeks? If it's a couple weeks, give it a little more time and see if your other symptoms get better. If it's been months, you and your doctor may have to make some changes.

Some of what you feel may be normal, only you're noticing it more since you've developed anxiety. The red/dry eyes, for example. That could simply be dryness from being awake so much. You're acutely aware of it, and that's not helping. It could be that you've developed an allergy, too, since you noted pressure in your head. Have you tried some claritin or whatever?

Most of the rest I've read about when researching anxiety before. You could try drinking more water, as well. It couldn't hurt and may help.

Also, what kind of physical shape are you in? Do you exercise? I've been a lot less active lately because I haven't felt well (anxiety), and I can feel all kinds of muscle tension and joint pain. I'd characterize each one as minor, but when you add them all up it can be pretty uncomfortable.

I can understand your worries. Anxiety really does do this to a person. When I would have panic attacks, I would fear that there was something wrong with my heart and worry that I would have a heart attack.
A person who suffers from anxiety notices their body more than any other person so any ache or pain is so noticable. Sometimes people who are really anxious look for symptoms in their bodies and then they end up feeling ill just from thinking about it.
I used to feel really sick a lot with anxiety and for months was convinced that there was something wrong with me.

I don't quite know how Ive done it, but these days I can say to myself.....Its just anxiety. From time to time that liitle bit of fear still creeps up on me where I think oh no....i'm ill.

From looking at your list of symtoms.... a lot of them could be anxiety. I can understand you wanting to get checked out to put your mind at rest.
Your jaw and temple pain could certainly be anxiety. The temple pain could be tension and if you clench you jaw when you are anxious, that could cause the jaw pain....Ive had that one myself and always suffer with tension headaches.

I hope the doctor can put your mind at rest. Take care and post again and keep in touch.

shawn, again i agree with eating the right foods. what do you suggest. i have a problem with foods my self. this might sound crazy, but does anyone associate panic attacks with their foods. anytime i would get a panic attack i would blame it on the food i ate. i would avoid them for a long time for fear of a panic attack from that food. i am at a point in my life that i am afraid to try new foods or just have a phobia of foods.i  basically eat the same food i am used to and very afraid to eat foods that i have eaten in the past. my head tells me that i might have a allergic reaction. i guess this is part of the OCD and anxiety. have you ever expierienced this or has anyone eles? any suggestions? THANKS

wannabbetter, look at the foods that are safe to you. can you break them up and put them in there own class. like eggs what kind of eggs fram fresh or store bought, dairy , grans such as oats ,wheat, corn . is it fast food! look at ingredents and learn to read them because they tricky! many foods are infected with fungus!or mycotoxiens corn being the biggest then wheat anything which has yeast in it.this fungus in the biggest unknown by DR. I want you to check this guy out (douge koufmen( www.know the cause.com) He came back from VNam 1972 with a illness not know by any dr.he found it was fungal over growth, because of certain food he was eating, a really good read!

I think that eating the right food is good all the way around But I got to say I eat mostly fresh fish and game and grow my own veggies and all are cooked and jarred all but the game, as well as the berry's we pick and very little food is from the stores and I still had anxiety with P/A's so I really don't think it is just from the food you eat.
