Hi, so sorry to hear of your panic attacks. How severe are they?how long have you had these panic attacks? i have never heard of pexeva. what is that for? i know of the xanax. i have taken them never helped me. so they put me on klonopin 3 times a day in the beginning. that really helps. it stays in your body longer and helps keep you calm. i have also been on wellbutrin. For me it made it worse. The depression worse. you need to be very carefeul with these medicines. sometimes they can make you feel worse. if this is happening, tell the dr, so they can try something else for you. How long on the meds? i hope this helps. talk soon. hope you find the medicines that help you. have you tried therapy. they can also teach you congnitive skills...God Bless

Long ago I had Wellbutrin. I couldn't tell it did much for me, but it was a positive experience because I lost a little weight and didn't smoke as much while on it. In those days I was a smoker and a tennis player...I know, I was dumb. There weren't many extra pounds but I was glad to see any extra go as I needed to be as light as possible! I believe it was also the one that had the most sexual side effects. I didn't go impotent or anything on it, but I experienced the dreaded decreased libido (my girlfriend was probably thankful). I'm not totally sure it was the drug, though.

Pexeva, I've never heard of. Supposedly, Xanax is similar to the Klonopin that wannabbetter talks about. I have Klonopin and am scared to take it, but my fears are definitely irrational. I'm sure you'll be fine.

I forgot to say that a friend of mine was helped by Wellbutrin a lot recently. She suffered from what I'd consider to be severe depression and I saw a huge change in her for the better. So give it a shot.

wellbutrin is an antidepressant that sometimes helps a lot with depression, anxiety and panic attacks, you need to take it several weeks to see whether it will help you

lots of info on panic attacks on the net and how to cope with them, they are usually from anxiety but can be from depression

xanax is like valium

harry,

thank u so much for the info.  Sometimes I really feel like there is nothing out there that can help me. one day i will be fine and the next i feel like i'm sliping into another panic attack.  I would like to tell how I feel.  When I have a attack I feel Like someone has giving me really bad news and I get hot all over and feel like I'm not in my body anymore. I start to crying uncontrollable.  And feel like the world has came to an end.  I do not look forward to anything anymore.  I have just started having these attacks. back in sept.  Please encourge me that there is hope because I feel so bad sometimes. I enjoy nothing anymore. I know that I have only took wellbrutrin for a week but does it really help or am I a geeny pig. If You dont mind me asking what has help you get you life back.

thank you

the panick attacks that I have are sometimes very servre. I have had to go to the hospital before.  My doctor told me that Pexeva is like paxil just newer. And it is not suposed to have as much side effects.  I have only been taking it for about 4 weeks and the wellbrutrin for a week.  I hope this has answered your question. Let me know if you can give me advice. thank you ponce28 confused

Ponce,
Have you tried talking to therepy? I have just recently just started a new med as well. It does take time. I have met many wise people on here that are doing much better! When I feel a attack coming on, I go to the anxiety/panic chat room here at healing well, and it really does help alot to talk to people who are suffering from the same thing that you are.
Sorry I couldn't be more help

Stephanie
