When you go to a violin concert and you get there and the place is packed and you go in and sit (not on the isle) and you DONT go into full blown panic and you dont go running out of the room tho you want to.

Twiggy, I did a thread on relaxation techniques a while back and that was about breathing. I'll see if I can bump it to the top so you can read it.

I agree with lyn - YOU are in control here. I try and tell myself that all the time, that I am in control of my anxiety.

Yesterday I went to a complemetary therapies show and it was so interesting and I learnt a lot from it. I had so many treatments, I slept like a baby last night!!!!

Ha.

I know what you mean. As an ardent bachelor, my place has always alternated between borderline filthy (fast food wrappers all over the place, dishes unwashed for days) to "picked up but not clean".

The last couple of weeks, I've dusted, cleaned my bathroom to a spotless condition, vacuumed the floors a hundred times, kept the dishes washed, added plants to the window sills, cleaned up after myself immediately after making any messes...everything.

It's a lot nicer living this way. The home seems much more like a home. Now if I could just persuade myself to catch up on laundry and get rid of a hundred million old books. Then maybe frame some of my photography and hang it. THEN it would be a home.

You know you are beating panic disorder when you ENJOY a long, hard day at work. Then you beat it up some more by staying in and turning on the television to watch a baseball game and you don't feel agoraphobic for doing so!

Baseball is awesome. My team got no-hit last night but it's still fun to see something special like that take place. It's such a slow and methodical game, but it's punctuated by action. Traditional, yet modern. Very cerebral yet children can play it just as well. Very therapeutic! You can follow the game intensely, pitch by pitch, or watch it while reading a book.
