Welcome to healingwell! You will definitely find people who are going through the same things you are and are very helpful here. I've had panic attacks/anxiety and agoraphobia for about 17 years, on and off, and have been where you are right now many times. I agree with victoria, you have to begin to accept that what you are feeling is only panic, that it's not a physical disease or illness and that it will pass. This past November, I was exactly where you are now...terrified every minute of the day, feeling like I was dying or going crazy, all the symptoms of panic just hitting over and over. Once I started talking to myself in a positive way and telling myself it's only panic and can't hurt me, I began to improve. You may not believe what your telling yourself at first, and it does not work immediately, but if you keep at it and hang in there, it begins to help. I'm doing so much better now, haven't had a panic attack since December, my daily anxiety is slim to none and I'm getting out of the house again. It just takes time and patience for your new way of thinking to start to work. If you like to read, my favorite books are by Claire Weekes, she has a way of describing panic/anxiety in a very easy to understand way and her words can be such a comfort when you are in a bad way. I hope that you will continue to come here, like I said there are some very supportive people here and feeling less alone in this is such a help. Take care and hang in there!
