I am asking this because I have Fibromyalgia.  Now that I've been offically diagnosed with Anxiety, I wonder if alot of my FM symptoms are really from anxiety!  Alot of them seem to be the same.

Just a question I've been asking myself lately, and by no means think that every one who has FM, or any other illness, is really only dealing with anxiety!

If any of you have any thoughts on this, please share!

Sweet

p.s.  I know anxiety/stress can make alot of illness alot worse.

FM is often misdiagnosed when in reality it could be a Vitamin D deficiency. Lack of Vit D causes all sorts of emotional and physical symptoms. Only your doctor can help you sort this out. A good naturalpath is worth their weight in gold.

Hi Sweets
I have crohns and PG as well as other serious disease I dont bring to the board BUT I do believe that alot of illnesses might just be anxiety related/or amplified by anxiety
For instance the Pyoderma Gangrenosum I get ( sores that come from inside out and literally eat skin to the bones and tissues ) is a shoot off from crohns BUT it is brought on by the amount of anxiety and stressors in my life .....
You ask a very valid question and I have given my honest opinion and I too am not saying that my crohns or anyone elses is caused by anxiety alone .........
I will be watching for others input on this .....should be quite interesting IMO
Great thread

Be well
God Bless

I agree with lyn .... alot of symptoms can be related to anxiety. Anxiety causes so many physical symptoms that it can look like another illness. I experience so many physical symptoms from anxiety and if I googled all my physical symptoms I would probably think I had some awful disease or condition ...... but I know I dont. I have anxiety and that is the root of all my physical symptoms.

many vitamin and mineral shortages can cause anxiety like problems, also not enough common salt causes severe fatigue

I take a daily vitamin and mineral tablet and use some iodised table salt

overdoing it on a no salt diet can put you in hospital

A good belly laugh sure does feel good! One of the reasons I like to what "Funniest Home Videos".

I know stress and anxiety have caused my adrenals to not function properly. My cortisol levels are totally reversed, which is one of the reasons my sleep is so poor.

I know I had problems with my "nerves" as a child growing up. My parents had problems, my mom drank, and my uncle molested me. Who wouldn't have trouble with anxiety? I was your typical hypocondriac. If I heard of someone being sick, then I was sure to be "sick" too. I'm glad I out grew that! Now its just reality! LOL.

Its interesting how you can "forget" alot of things like that about when you where young. I asked my mom about it the other day, and asked if the dr had given me anything for my nerves, cause I couldn't remember those details, and she said they had. So I guess it shouldn't be any surprise that it would come back to "haunt" me
