Hello,

I posted here with a few symptoms I have been suffering anyway just thought I'd add in that the past few nights I've had real trouble sleeping, my arms and legs have felt like relly jittery and nervy, I can't really describe the sensation but it makes it hard to sleep, I can't get to sleep until about 2am and then I wake up at 5am and my sleep through the night is bad.

I have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression, could my lack of sleep be due to this??

Hi P,L

No I suffer others too, Ill paste my post from y/day!

I don't actually know what a panic attack is as such but my councillor says I have anxiety :s

Heres my post:
Hello everyone, Well for the last 4 months my life has been hell. I had been diagnosed by my doc with depression in December, where at the time I couldn't sleep or if I did I'd wake in the middle of the night with a rapid heart beat, I couldn't eat and I cried constantly, all of this was because me and my bf were having a rough patch which I will admit was caused on my behalf, I was obsessed he had someone else and I wouldn't settle until he admitted, even though deep down I knew he wasn't as he never leaves my side,I cried at the smallest of things basically all I can describe it as I had like a mini breakdown! but we sat down and talked everntually sorted out or differences and decided to get on with it.

He has stuck by me well and truely through all this and although most of the symptoms faded, the depression never. Hes been great through the tears tantrums and all the rest I've put him through. I simply couldn't have asked for a better boyfriend :)

I was reffered to a councillor who told me that I have anxiety which has caused depression, but I don't get this. She told me she knew straight away from the speed I spoke at, but I have did this since I was child.

I don't get how I have anxiety though because I'm not scared to go anywhere or of anything, I don't suffer panic attacks well that I am aware of and I don't really know much else about anxiety.

Anyway

the only symptoms I am aware of suffering is:

I still get the rapid heart beat a lot
I wake up far too early and can't get back to sleep
I sometimes get this faint short of breath sort of feeling in my chest
I sometimes get a sore throat when I get this
I am awfully fidgety
I can't stay in one place for a long space of time, I pace about
I talk fast (as I said thoigh I have always did this)
I get adgitated and angry really easily
I am really short tempered and violent
I feel faint sometimes
I used to have crying fits but my meds seem to have cured this, but I still feel teary lots.
I suffer quite bad tension headaches sometimes.

Anyway, whenever I think of my bf, the future, our relationship and especially THAT weekend which it all started when I sort of snapped I get that fluttery horrible faint feeling in my chest
and feel weird.

I hate feeling like this.

Sorry my post was so long but I needed to vent. I hope someone can advise me on my problems.

I was having so many problems sleeping and now am alot better with it I do the relaxation Tech's and CBT
As well my mind would not shut off so I do have it now alot calmer as I tell self outloud it is okay NOTY to constantly worry and I listen to the ceiling fan and the sounds to bascally put me to sleep
When I was in that depression I posted about yesterday I could not sleep for the life of me and not eating nor sleeping didnt go over to well only made crohns worse as well as my attention span and forgetting simplest things
Mind is a Powerful thing
I too think going thru techs' and doing CBT should help you out with this

Hi scotsgirl

Everyone has differing symptoms of panic/anxiety...all you need to know is that you Are in control..you have been given some great advice here..how about giving some of it a try and getting back to us and letting us know if it has helped..finding the key to calm the anxiety could be as simple as learning breathing techniques...

Take good care.

Hello thanks for all the comments everyone, the thing is though I don't panic! I'm not scared of anything, that it sends me into a fit or anything like that and I don't seem to worry! Well I do but nothing out of the ordinary!

The only thing I feel that I can say is anxiety?? Is that for the last 3 days I've felt like I can't breathe properly, its like I have to take a huge breath just to get enough oxygen and i have to sigh to breathe out, its like somethings restricting my breathing but this just happens all day with intervals sometimes. But when this occurs I am not in a panic or worry about anything and nothing sets it off its just there.

Also whenever I think of my bf the future bad times we've had or anything like that I get that tight short of breath feeling again, its like someones squeezing my heart or theres something surrounding it stopping it from working, when I first recognised that I had depression we had quite a bad patch, so do you think I may have developed anxiety towards my bf?? If anyone can help I'd be grateful, and if you need to hear more of the story to say for yourselves just ask

Thank you ever so much

Katie

Hi Katie, yes to me it sounds like you have issues with your boyfriend that is leading to all of this anxiety. i remember when i was young and dating my boyfriend which is now my husband i had lots of anxiety. We had issues also, which i think most all couples do. My fear then was that he would find another girlfriend. it was my insecurities. He was always a faithful boyfriend and to this day he is still is. A faithful husband. still at this time in my life i get those insecurities and my mind starts to run. I never caught him with anybody he was the one that was always chasing me, butsomehow i  had insecurities, which led to anxiety. I dont know how old you are, but please dont waste any more time with insecurities. in the long run it will not help, just wasted time and bad energy. When i look back to those years thats what it was for me, wasted time, when i could have been enjoying life, with no negative feelings and worries. If you dont control the general anxiety it could lead to the panic disorder, which i truly beleive that happened to me.I have had this panic disorder for 13 years.its no fun. if it is meant for you and your guy to be together it will happen.just try to enjoy eachother while you have eachother and trust eachother. life is too way short. If he has cheated on you its up to you to forgive him and continue the relationship or forgive him and break it off. It is always good to forgive one another. Ask God to help you forgive. Thats what God would want is forgivness. It helps heal your soul also.. Good luck Katie and stay strong...God Bless

Scotsgal,

I have experienced a lot fo these symptoms myself, especially the rapid heartbeat and shortness of breath.  A lot of these symptoms can be caused by anxiety and lyn is right, our minds are a funny thing!!!!  We can experience so many physical symptoms from anxiety.

I find that relaxation helps me with some of these symptoms and also being aware that it is anxiety that is causing them helps too.
