Well, it looks like I will be hosting my hubbies Easter family gathering this Friday.  He has a rather large family.[compared to mine, anyways].  I am the type of person that likes to have my house perfect when I know that people are coming over.  One reason why I don't like it when people just drop by, cause I'm not ready! mad

I agreed to host it because the sister that  normally has it has just finished radiation treatments for her breast cancer, plus, she has 2 sons getting married.  One this month, and the other in June.  So needless to say, she has her hands full!

Typically, this gathering is just as huge as our Christmas one is.  Dinner, snack, supper, snack.   Food food food food.  Cleaning up, make a mess, clean up and the men sit in their comfy chairs and just enjoy them selves! nono    Not that I have a problem with that of course, eyes

I've been trying really hard to not let this get out of control for me.  I'm not overly worried about how my house looks, but each day I've been doing some cleaning here and there[a good way to utilize some of those anxious feelings, I am finding!]  I also said if the gathering was at our house then it would have to be different this year.  one meal only, and of course, we have to have a snack before every one goes home.  Paper plates and plastic cutlery/cups are on order too.  I also said we should have a cold plate too, salads, cheese, etc, something that doesn't have to be kept hot.

Guess what!  They AGREED!  Who says tradition can't be changed! yeah

My anxiety just recently reserfaced 2 wks ago, and I guess I realized it was something that I've been dealing with for years, just not knowing it.  With the extra Clonazapam my dr gave me to take until my Buspar starts working, I've been doing pretty good.  Cleaned some areas of the house that hadn't been done since we moved in to it[fall of '02]

I'm pretty proud of myself!

Hope you all have a great Easter!  He Is Risen!

Sweet,

I hope all turns out well on Friday.   It does sound like you are doing pretty well with this, asking for what you need by changing the food tradition is the right way to go and it's wonderful that you could do that for yourself!  And great idea with the paper plates, plastic cutlery, etc., that should help alot.  Just make sure to remember to try and enjoy yourself!  Let me know how it goes!  Have a wonderful Easter!

Well, yesterday wasn't a very good day for me confused    I couldn't fall asleep the night before till 5am.  I think it had to do with my new med busporine.  I had to meet my sister-in-law at 1pm to do the shopping for the gathering.  Then her and I went out for coffee, then I picked up the kids after school and we met my hubby and went out for a quick supper.  He had quartet practice, and I had a few more errands to run before I could go home.

My body felt like it was ''zinging" almost all day.  Told the kids my spider senses where tingling tongue    I thought I had a clonazapam with me, but what I took actually turn out to be an anti nausea pill that looks the same!  Least I was nauseas!

When I got home I had more cleaning to do and had to make my salad for todays supper.

At 10 pm I could finnally sit down and watch Survivor.  Took my Busporine at 9 pm instead of when I went to bed, and it was a bit better last night with my sleeping, but not as good as I needed.

Every thing is now done and we just have to wait for the people to come.  I'm ready for a nap!  But then, I'd have to totally redo my hair again., guess I will just enjoy the quiet for a little longer.

Have a Happy Easter!

Well,

I made it thru the day! :-)    It went quite smoothly , there where 23 people over for supper and for snack later in the evening.  I had most things done before everyone came. I hate not being prepared or having to do alot of the prep work while the people are already here.

After they all left, we quickly got the house back in order and I got to bed at 12am!  Of course, It took time to unwind, but I always read in bed till my night meds kick in anyways.

I hadn't slept good for a few nights, so I made up for it today!  I still woke up frequently, but I didn't get out of bed till about 1:45 pm!  Boy did that feel good!

I'm feeling very tired today.  We have my family get together for supper and this evening, but we are going to a resturant, so I don't have to do any cooking or cleaning! yeah

Take care, all
