Here I am Lyn

Making great progress. Up to 250 mgs. of Luvox. I am able to spend most of the day "Talking a leap of faith" from not obsessing about thoughts creating anxiety. It's a willingness to live with uncertainty. That's the key to getting out of OCD rut. My only difficulty is when the side effects hit me in the evening. Sometimes intense agitation that can cut through the small amounts of Klonopin I take in the evening. However, when you know it's just side effects no biggee.

You wanna hear something funny? Tonight when I was getting the agitation I was obsessing whether the phenomenon of anxiety is true. Even though I know it happens to me do I believe it is a real phenomenon? Meaning other people have the same thing happen to them. How can one read this forum and not get that? Shows you how silly OCD thoughts can be. Do other people have scary thoughts that create anxiety? Anyhow, all is well.

Great day with CBT Doc. We are making great progress. Luvox seems to be dealing me fewer side effects too. Coming well.

Have you picked up "Brain Lock" yet? I can't recommend it highly enough.

Today was rough with agitation. But, feel great now. I told the CBT doc I can't wait until this Luvox kicks in. It's been 13 days on 250 mgs. 300 mgs is max dose. OCD requires high doses. If Pdoc isnsists I will go to 300 mgs. However, I don't see where another 50 mgs can make that much difference.

The CBT doc + "Brain Lock" is an awesome combination.

Best,
David

Yes dave have picked "Brainlock " up and will be reading it as soon as I get Cait to Toronto Saturday so actually start Sunday ..........
I think the 50 mg increase just might help I know it doesnt sound like much at all but I would go for it if Doc says to as well

I am having a real hard time too right now with cait leaving for a month for the page program in Toronto.....never been away from me for that long ever.......I know I will be lonely BUT at least I will have the book to read and here to come to ........

Take care my friend next week we should be able to compare notes or thoughts on "Brainlock"

Be well

Hope everything goes well in Toronto, eh.
Did I mention my Ex Wife is from Toronto? Met her in Florida when I lived there in 1980. We were divorced two years later. No muss no fuss. I still love Canadians. She was great. We just didn't belong together.

Anyhow, happily married now for 17 years. Got it right this time.

Pretty much status quo. Plenty of progress. Still some very strong agitation. I don't take as much Klonopin as I should. Prescribed 1.5 mgs. per day. I usually take .50 never more than 1 mg.

You will appreciate "Brain Lock."

Sorry about the Crohns. My niece is afflicted with it. Only 19 yrs old. Had to quit school for the semester.

I went ahead and jumped from 250-300 mgs of Luvox. I see the doc in ten days and I already know he would up it then so i got a head start. This after 16 days at 250 mgs. Feel great today. I think Luvox and I are going to have a nice long relationship.

Hope you feel better soon.

Best

So far so good with the Luvox. Feel better and i didn't expect that at all.
Sometimes it's tough to put into action everything I have learned. However, CBT Doc says OCD is alway hard. But, for the most part, making great progress.

Glad to see things are better for you.
Here too. I seem to be tolerating the increased dosage well. All seems to be working for the best. In fact, i notice less agitation. Not more.
CBT is hard work, but worth the effort. be well my friend.

Others got me to read "Brain Lock." So don't give me any credit. It's a very popular and effective book. I actually put a picture of the devil over my desk to represent the OCD chemical messages.

The Luvox seems to be great, albeit with plenty of side effects. CBT doc is fabulous. We use the book in the program. With Pure O we call it a leap of faith and not "refocus" which is better utilized by those with compulsions.

Doing well Lyn
Tonight a lot of side effect agitation, add to that a paradoxical effect from the Klonopin and you have quite the recipe for anxiety. However, i am so far along with CBT and awareness of the drug side effect routine I see right through the anxiety and know I'm right on track.

Hope all is well on your end.
