mine says refill 3 times by 5/7 2007, someone said i can only fill it up one more time. Its like this because i only take half dose of my clonozapam.  Can i fill it up tommorrow and then again on monday or can i not. Id hate to go back to doc being broke in a month or so. I did pay 20 of my 800 dollar bill before it got turned over to collections though.

In Australia they list a date in which the med can be refilled on, and if needed sooner to see your doc.

I'd call the pharmacist to see if they'll refill them all, but I doubt it. Clonazepam is a Class IV controlled substance, so it would be difficult to imagine them handing you three bottles at one time.

On the other hand, your doctor has an ethical responsibility to write you a prescription if you're running out. Dependency is an issue here and he can't cut you off just because you owe money. Even though you may hate to go back, consider that you have a responsibility to yourself first and foremost.

I would say you should be refilling in slightly before you run out...in other words if your prescription should hold you a month you shouldnt be refilling weekly. Maybe every 3 weeks then

because it is a controlled substance, you're supposed to take it as directed and a date from that gets figured out that you have to refill by.  if the amount of refills don't make sense to you though, then my best advice to you is to call your pharmacist (asap) to get clarification.  if you can't get the clarification you need from him, make a call to your doctors office for his advice or a nurse's advice.  whatever you do, don't wait until you're out of the meds to clear this up - it is a controlled substance and it's unlikely to get a call-in refill on it if you're stuck without it over a weekend and can't see your regular doctor.  i agree that they probably won't give you 3 Xs what you need at once.  my perscription for the same medication is AS NEEDED so that helps me have some lee-way with when i can get it refilled, but before then if i waited too long (i wasn't always compliant with my medication) to refill it, i couldn't get it without a new script.  definitely make some phone calls and get it all cleared up so you know what to do next!  you don't want to be stuck without! :)  hope it all works out!

My meds are always refillable up to one year from the original script date however I can only refill them within a couple of days of the daily dosage would be up. For example, if the doctor today prescribes me a 30 days worth of a med with 2 refills, then I have until 5/3/08 to get all refills completed however I can only refill it around 27 days after my last pickup. This is because of controlled medicine and because of insurance reasons. Hope that helps.

don;t understand why noone knows what im talking about. My prescription was filled out 6 months ago and every time i refill it it will have one less number. It will say on the bottle when it was filled and if it said 4, next time it will say 3 refills by 5/12/2007. So i guess im screwed. I can't get a call in refill of it. I was supposed to see him over 3 months ago but havent been back because i owe about 5000

I understand exactly what you're talking about. Some months ago you were given a prescription with a certain number of refills. The prescription's almost up, and for whatever reason you haven't used all your refills. You just got your last one recently, so I assume you've asked the pharmacist and he won't refill again so soon.

How are you taking the Clonazepam and how was it prescribed? The way it was prescribed, I'm guessing you were supposed to take it twice per day but you took it as needed. Otherwise you would've used your refills. Well, depending on what the dose is and how often you've been using it, you may have enough in your last bottle to taper off. I suggest having a talk with a pharmacist about it. If you've been taking it more often just in the last couple weeks, you're going to encounter withdrawal problems. If that's the case the doctor has a responsibility to supervise your taper whether you owe him money or not. It's an ethical thing. They can't just hang you out to dry.

I've tried to be very clear about what I've said. If you have any questions, please write the email address in my profile. I have a "last resort" person I MIGHT could help you get in touch with. But it really should be something you talk over with doctors and pharmacists. Klonopin/Clonazepam is a powerful drug and isn't something you can self-medicate with, especially if you're in a high anxiety state.

I see what you are saying. I'm the same way with my meds.. I don't take as many as prescribed, so I always go past my next refill time, and have meds left when I go to docs and should need new script. My doc normally just re-writes my script and shakes his finger at me telling me meds don't do me any good sitting in the bottle.

The problem that I see with getting refills to finish out your prescription is what docs call "stockpiling" meds. Which makes little difference if you don't abuse them, but a pharmacist won't see it that way. With controlled substances, you are only supposed to have the amount on hand, that matches your script. Like, sixty pills for a twice a day script. If it's an "as needed" script, there still should be something on bottle like "one every six hours, as needed", which is what they will base your refills on.

I really doubt you will find a pharmacist to give you all your refills that are due you, close together. There is such close scrutiny now on controlled substances, that doing that would send a red flag up on the pharmacy. If you can't get into doc, you should start to taper now... going cold turkey off Klonopin is a dangerous thing.

I agree with Des
Make sure you call the pharmacy and see IF you can /will/do have a RX refill if you do pick it up and then start weaning off unless you have more repeats ........

Going right off any med like this is very dangerous ..cold turkey I am sure you do know that though

If I dont make sense excuse me am a little under the weather

im supposed to take 2 mg twice a day, but for about 2 weeks ive been taking 1 mg once a day. When i don't take it i feel jumpy like restless legs and shaky nervousness in my hands. I only skip one day a week just to see how i feel. I feel pale and or feverish if i don't take it.

I take it because my last doc visit 4 months ago i have bad real bad restless legs and nervousness . I originally went to the doc for headaches and only anxiety i have is wanting my headaches to go away which are next to my temples and next to my ears on my face. It goes bump, bump bump 24 hours a day 7 days a week,. Sometimes headpressure on side of head . Taking 4 diff meds for headaches but quit since it didnt work.

I now take feverfew, b2, magnesium for that and helps maybe 5 percent but the studies have it being best after 3 months of use and only a month and a half so far.

I filled it up on the 14th of april for 90 pills . Last day is on monday to refill . No i haven;t tried to refill it yet. I will go tommorrow and see what they say. If it can be refilled that will last me a year , plus im on a low dose, although the doc is probaly pissed i haven't went back to see him.

I don't go back because im broke and don't want to take meds. Im against meds except in a crisis situation and if its up to me i would never take meds and i believe in natural cures although none have worked for me except apple cider vinegar for acid reflux which this all started out as , which was acid reflux with headaches.

Im thinking of doing an intestinal cleanse soon but just havent started
