Todays my birthday and I already feel anxious, when it was my daughters birthday 2 weeks ago I felt like crap. It seems to happen whenever it's a family birthday.

Does anyone else experience it? If I'd play pdoc I'd say it's feeling older and still sick making me feel like I'm wasting so much of my life, anyone else with answers?

I used to always feel bad on family occasions like birthdays or holidays, too. I'm not sure why that is. Clearly, they're stressful because there's a lot of pressure to be "happy". Perhaps we feel guilty that we can't be, and it turns into yet another one of those vicious cycles. Then we start feeling guilty about lots of other things that are and aren't our fault. Self-loathing.

Nevertheless, I wish you a happy birthday. I hope something will come along and take your mind off your troubles.

Are you doing something fun for yourself today? Like go to a spa or a movie you want to see or to your favorite resturant. Try not to dwell on getting older, it's better than the alternate. I hope you have a happy birthday.

Thanks guys,

I could feel the panic building in the afternoon, so did a relaxation CD and then some other techniques I learnt in hospital. I made it through the day without any major drops. yeah We even managed dinner out and icecream cake. :-)
