angest,
I'm on 200mg of Zoloft and have had no side effects from drinking a single beer or a glass of wine. You should definitely consult your doctor first before drinking with ANY medication.
But choosing to NOT drink is generally a good answer - especially in this day and age. There are people on this forum that have been horribly impacted by alchohol. And there are people that should NEVER take even a single drink.

(My psychiatrist thinks it's an ok thing to have one beer or glass of wine a day because of the relaxation effect - assuming your not an alchoholic - sorry - had to throw that in.)

Zoloft does not potentiate the effect of alcohol. However, it is not recommended to drink while you take Zoloft. Different people may react differently mixing Zoloft with alcohol. I understand you, sometimes you would like to drink some wine or beer. You can try to drink a little and see what your reaction will be. If you will be OK, you can probably drink a bit more next time.
