Dave..I find horses to be scary beasts..lol..having been kicked in the shin once too often I tend to stick to feeding them carrots these days..but I understand the feeling of freedom when riding..and I congratulate you for getting on with your life..yay..

haha --

You guys wanted to hear funny things, right? Well, here something funny:

I've lived in Texas most all of my life. I was born here and raised here. There were some short stints in LA and all over the east coast, but mainly it has been Texas. And I will probably live here the rest of my life, too.

Nothing funny about that until you consider I've never in my life ridden a horse. Ever. I have touched them on the nose once or twice. I see them every now and then, but I've never once ridden one. That may amuse some of you northern city slickers who thing we Texans all have oil money and live on ranches!

I used to ride as a child however I don't know if I have it in me to get on a horse again. I think I've been watching too many movies.

housecleaning and washing the dishes is good therapy, you always feel better with everything neat and tidy, more benefits than from an expensive visit to a therapist, I suggest yeah

Oh Maree you would love my horses when ever I'm outside they follow me around like puppy dogs, even are Farrier that trims there feet came out a few weeks ago looked around and couldn't find them I walked out and called them and sure enough here comes all 3.

Debaser I can't believe a Texan has never been on a horse before lol you just got to try it there a lot of fun to ride.

Did you all hear about the brown bear that had killed a moose on Sunday down here by Homer it's on www.youtube.com and look for brown bear kills moose in driveway.

I heard from my wife today that guy down the road here seen one yesterday dragging a moose across the road here as well but that's not really new around here, just have to packing the rifle for now.

Well, this way at least I'm a little unique. If I have an opportunity to ride one, I probably will. At least when internet people learn I'm from Texas and inevitably start asking about horses and oil wells, I honestly say I have no clue about either one.

LOL debaser... yeah I know what you mean, I'm in Texas but I live in the 4th largest city in the US (I think it's still the 4th) and believe me when I say it's ALL city!! And people wonder why you don't talk with a drawl which they automatically assume if you are from Texas. It's died down now but the worse was when people kept asking me about Enron lol.

Haha...yeah. Within Texas, Houston is primarily known for its, uh, unique odor. shipping channel + petrochemicals/refineries + swamps = GODAWFUL SMELL. Yuck. As if the air pollution from the cars wasn't enough...

But it's definitely a big city, I'll give it that.

Austin's the best place in Texas. I'm going to hate moving. I actually had a choice between Dallas and Houston and would've made more in Houston, but I just couldn't see myself there. Anyway, Austin is the 15th largest city in the US, but it doesn't seem like it at all. That's what I like about it.

Dallas/Fort Worth -- sprawl. It just passed Philadelphia/Wilmington to become the 4th most populous metropolitan area in the country (NYC, LA, CHC, DFW).

So, yeah, then we have San Antonio which is actually about the same size as Dallas proper, but has few suburbs.

Texas is a very urban state, but luckily there's lots of untamed country between the cities.

Freezing...my only vice is cigarettes. Chewing tobacco...well, my grandfather did that and let's just say I never will, haha.

Hmm, not all of Houston smells, I think you are thinking of the southeast side of town which I no way near live. I actually live almost 2 hours away from that side right outside the city limits in suburbia (yeah, Houston is THAT big). Good luck to you and your new job. Whether its Dallas or Houston, you will have to get used to the traffic (UGH THE TRAFFIC!!!)

Then we got are wildlife of both Brown and Black bears, Moose, Lynx, and sometimes Cariboo

The daylight here allways keeps me up, woke up at 5am and it sets around 11pm right now, by next month we will only have about 2 hours of night time so by July we will be heading down to the river cabin and doing are fishing for the red Salmons, but I'm still getting frost in the mornings here lol
