Hello, I'm new to this forum...have been diagnosed with anxiety about a year ago...
However my doctor just sent me to get checked again to make sure there was nothing wrong.
I'm getting tachycardia without thinking anymore that I'm going to die, I try to rationalize and it usually goes away very fast. But it happens at "normal" places "normal" times...during a party, going grocery shopping...It's starting to make me afraid to do some stuff and I don't like that...
I was wondering if some of you also experienced tachycardia without going to the full blown panic attack
Thanks ! :-)

Thank you for the reply, docs did echocardiogram, blood work, I already had Chest X Ray done, did several EGK and wore an holter moniter as well...
My doc really thinks that my tachycardia is been brought upon by generalized anxiety...

Thanks Lyn, I have been seeing docs about this, a cardiologist just ordered all those tests, and also a thyroid count. I have been working on trying to admit that it is "just" anxiety. I guess I just wanted some kinda of reassurance from people who experience tachycardia without going to full blown panic attacks. I think I do not go "all the way' anymore because I tell myself that it is a panic attack and that I will be fine.
I also turned recently to the internet to check my symptoms and of course, all I found were scary things. I need to stop that habit I guess...
Thanks again :-)

sinus tachycardia...and I have a lot of things which stress me out in my life...too long to explain though ;-)
I just realized that I already had anxiety as a child (used to pull my hair), one of my sis is also "anxious"...
I guess I just really wanted to know with this post if some people also had episodes of tachycardia but were able to control it...

I saw a cardiologist who ordered a bunch of tests for me...waiting on the results however I have done some of these tests already and everything came back normal...
As I said earlier, as a child I used to pull my hair...I've always been a control maniac and my cardiologist did tell me that if those tests come back ok, I should finally realize that I am "anxious"...
I will soon make an appointment to see a cognitive/behavioral therapist.
I want to get better, I wish you the best in your own recovery...
If anybody else have experience tachycardia relating to anxiety, I would greatly appreciate any "anecdotes" or advices

Lileloa,

I'm a 43 yo female and I suffer from alot of anxiety/panic and I have a fast pulse most of the time it seems.  Even when I am not aware of being anxious.  I did have an extensive heart workup last year (EKGs, blood work, Holter moniter, thallium stress test, Echo, and Cath).  Cardiologist said it was anxiety related.  The more I think about it the less I'm able to bring my heart rate down to normal.  My resting heart rate is usually around 80, and my tachy is usually not much over 100.  I don't like the way this makes me feel, but I try to remind myself it's just the anxiety.

Hope you have a better day!

Resting
