I've had panic disorder for about 8 years now, but I only knew about for about 1 1/2 years. Even though I didn't know what I was going through all those years, I still tried to stop it any possible way I could...breathing deeply, relaxation techniques. NOTHING is helping at allll! And I think 8 years is long enough. I have gone to my last resort--medication. Is there anyone who is one/has been on any medication for this? If so, what are the side affects? I really want to know what i am getting into before I get into it. please w/b

Hi there J
Lots of us here have meds for anxiety..sometimes you just have to take them to help you through the rough patches so don't feel bad..
What meds have you had prescribed?

I'd say most people here are or have been on medication for anxiety problems. What side effects will depend on what medication you get. Have you gone to the doctor already or is this something you're planning on doing?

I have not been prescribed anything because I never went to the doctor's for it. I've been to a phsych. and 2 couselors but that's not doing anything. So I plan on getting it checked so I can get meds.
