Hi - I have been having bad headaches for over 3 weeks now. They are constant. They started in the back of my head and then moved around. I have had them on the top of my head, on the sides, and in my forehead and face area. right now its everywhere. im not sure if this is from anxiety? I started getting them a few days after my panic attacks struck. and also after i went back on zoloft - i had been off it for 3 months and have snice been back on for 3 weeks. the headaches feel like pressure on my head - like bricks on my head or like my head's in a vice. there's also a burning sensation and it feels like my brain jumps a bit - esp when i hear a noise. like its rattling in my skull. It also hurts when i walk. i have been so afraid of having something life threatening. i have been to th dr 5 times and to the er once. i also have seen a psych dr who has me in therapy. they all say its stress (tension headaches?), anxiety and hormones (i am also 19 weeks pregnant). anyway they are freaking me out and i cant seem to calm down about them. my neck is real tight too. has anyone felt like this before???? tylenol doesnt help and neither does ice or heat. I odnt know what else to do. Everyone seems to think its all in my head - but it hurts so bad. No one seems to believe me. I just want them to go away. I just want to feel liek myself again.

I would be asking about swapping the zoloft for some other antidepressant or perhaps quitting all antidepressants for a while to see if problems stop

valium type meds relax the muscles for a while

I am going in for minor surgery tomorrow but I am still waiting to hear about blood tests I took yesterday.  My left temple hurts when I press on it and I feel pressure in my forehead.  I hope it's just stress from waiting for results.  I don't normally get headaches so when I do, I get worried.

Good luck to you.

HI Keli

I am sorry you are having these bad headaches. There are so many kinds of headaches as well as reasons for them as I am sure you know.

All the times you have seen a physician, what tests have they performed?

Stay with us and keep posting.

They've checked my vitals and neuro signs and all were good. I cannot have a ct scan or an mri due to pregnancy and I cannot take anything more than tylenol. everyone says its anxiety, stress, and hormones. i dont know what do think. Can my mind really make me feel this way? I just want my life back.

The mind can do many things and you are right, hormones play a large part right now too.

I hope you learn some relaxation techniques and soon conquer the anxiety.

Hi Keli,

I get headaches like that all the time.  I really think it's probably tension - they are so uncomfortable that you are tense while you're dealing with the pain.  Try and stop for a minute close your eyes drop your shoulders and let your mouth fall open a bit... lower your chin a little, when u do this do u feel any of the tension fall away?  I am constantly tensing my neck and facial muscles without even realizing it and that, I believe, plays a big part in my headaches.  I am on Zoloft also... maybe it's the med that causing it for both of us???  Good luck

Liz
