Hi.  I thought there was a Medication section somewhere in here but I just can't find it.  Okay,  I have been having a terrible time in the past 2 weeks.  Lots of desions with money (money being the root of all evil), etc.  I have and still am taking Cloazepam (3mg a day-1 mg dividied into 3 doses).  But lately I have been having an extemely hard time sleeping and find that a times, my muscles feel really sore and tight.  I taked to my "head doctor" and explained to him what has been happening in the past 2 weeks, and he presecibed me Valium.  He told me to continue taking the Cloazepam but to take one tablet of Valium about an hour before going to bed.  I have never taken Valium before, I would appreciate it if someone to explain to me what I should be feeling and why?

Sorry for the spelling mistakes, I am again in a real rush.
Thanks.

Boomer,

I take Ativan .5 mg (which is like Valium), but I don't take it before bed. I use it on an as needed basis and it really helps to take the edge off my anxiety and makes me feel calmer.

I don't know if that helps at all, but I'm sure you'll get other more informed responses.

Resting

Hello.  Thank you for the response.  I am going to be taking a generic form of Valium http://www.apotex.ca/products/en/Search.asp?Type=General&SearchText=valium

I will be taking the 5mg one at night.

Are you on any anti depressants? I take avanza and it's taken at night and makes me sleep all night through. I'm currently cutting back from clonazepam to valium and have taken the odd valium before and 5mg doesn't make me sleepy. Since swapping from nightly to 3x a day with the clonazepam I'm more tired, I didn't think taking it at night was making me sleepy but it looks like it was.

Boomer,

I see your on Remeron, first one I have seen using that AD.  Wondering how it works for you?

Valium is a benzodiazepine and at 5 mgs  prescribled by your physician should be ok.  The actions are the same as most of the benzos but Valium is long acting.  Your blood level will stay steadier and hopefully you will get a good nights sleep.

Stay with us. yeah

paxil and remeron are antidepressants that also often reduce anxiety , panic attacks and OCD    a re they helping at all? if not, maybe ask doc about upping the dose or perhaps swapping to others, do they help much for your depression?

I have mild depression and have never found an antidepressant that helps at all

Hi.  It's me Boomer2uall.  Oh yea, I am still with you guys/gals.  Okay, I can see why he told me to take one and one only at bedtime.  I took one of the Valiums last night at 9:00pm Est.  I went to bed about 10:00pmEST and just woke up at 2:47pm EST.  Very powerful sleep indeed.  I am just glad it's a weekend or I will have slept right in.  My throat feels very dry and I need a coffee with caffine at this time.

Have a great weekend. And again, sorry for the spppeelling miistakes....lol.

I think someone asked me on this thread about Rameron Rd.  Yes, I take 45mg at bedtime.  I highly suggest that anyone taking it, take it right when you are in bed.  It dissolves on your tongue.  Within about 30 minutes or so, you will feel tired, and relaxed, but also very hungry.  I have put on about 50 pounds since taking this med.

As well as taking the Valium at bedtime, it really kicked my butt to bed.
