Well, i have just woke up from an anxiety attack in my sleep and it is 3:30am.
They past week  I have had a bad flair up. It seems I will go months at a time then a bad flare up will happen
to the point where I cant even drive myself somewhere or sleep. I wish I could figure out why this happens.
I have been on lexarpo for a couple years now and while I have small mood issuses or bad days off and on all
the time. It seems the panic attacks come and go. Last year about this same time, I had them so bad I thought
I for sure had something that was going to do me in and it was them first time an attack ever sent me to the ER
for the docs to sit there and tell me they didnt know what was wrong with me.
I think the Pounding heart is the one thing that scares the snot right out of me.
Have any of you ever figured out WHY you are having these attacks?
I go for months and I am fine then, BOOM!!! they are back and scaring me. And whats worse is I am scared of the
meds you tale to control them. I think they will give me the wrong combo or I will react to the meds and that will do me in.
any advice, any thoughts, I love to hear what you think.
Thanks Yall !

perhaps the lexapro dose needs upping or maybe the lexapro isnt helping at all and wont help you at any dose

panic attacks are usually inherited and can be traced back thru the generations

I agree with Harry here you may need the dose upped
Are you doing any other self help techniques to get you thru these attacks as well
There are so many to learn and work at
CBT is a great one IMHO
Please take care and check out resources as well as read some of the other threads........

Dear Crying,

I agree with our members who have posted before me and I believe Lyn mentioned CBT.  This is a site I have heard from members of mental health sites that has been helpful to them.

http://moodgym.anu.edu.au/

Nothing should ever take the place of working with your therapist so read this site info with open mind.  I am not endorsing it or have I ever used it but it is brought up frequently by people that have tried it as a good site.

Gentle hugs.

Kitt

Hello,

I agree.  Your medicine may need to be increased.  It's possible you may need to try something different.  I would make an appointment with your doctor.  I hope you get the relief you need.  Good Luck to you!

Take care,
Mary
