I've been having to deal with taking care of my mom for over 2 weeks now as she had broken her ankle. It has been an ordeal, I must say! I'm GLAD to be helping my mom and would do almost anything for her, but it's been tiring and very stressful! trying to keep my emotions in check when she's getting on my last nerve, trying to cheer her up when she's all depressed over being laid up or miserable in her recuperation, and also when she's being unfairly rude to me...sigh! I try to remember that she's naturally in an emotional state and not feeling good either. It's been hard taking care of the house, running errands, and doing the office cleaning jobs too, by myself. I do get help from a friend on one job each Wednesday thankfully! Of course, we pay her! She'd do it for nothing but Mom won't let anyone do her any such favors as that...sigh! eyes
I'm pooped out everyday and do have occassional moments when I feel a pang of anxiety want to start up on me, but I try consciously to push it away as best i can!
Oh well, I've moaned and groaned enough already! I see more folks have joined our nice forum! Welcome to all and I hope to be regular again in about a month...Oh how I hope it's no longer than that! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! tongue

Janet,

I admire how you are caring for your Mother, that is a wonderful thing for her and also gives you a chance to support her.

I know from my own experiences that taking care of parents can be tiresome, but it will be short term and I am sure she is grateful for your help.  Sometimes the older generation is afraid of being a burden and they react to their situation.

Please know that what you do is appreciated by your Mother, she is perhaps having difficulty accepting that she needs help.

Take care of you too....................you need to stay healthy and venting is good for the soul.

((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))

Respectfully
Kitt

Thanks to you both! I know she appreciates my help! She tells me and brags about me to others...of course, that just makes me feel more guilty for getting aggravated at her!
I do believe though that this may make her a bit more empathetic chould I have to deal with another bout of anxiety!
I love you all and thanks for the support always!
hugs!

Janet,

You are a wonder, how lucky your mom is to have you to help her through this!  I wish you could squeeze a little bit of time for yourself though, just to recharge your batteries, but I understand that sometimes that is not possible with so much responsibility...and boy do you have your hands full of that!!!  I'm glad that your mom is appreciative of all that you do, that must make it a bit easier.  You hang in there and do try to find a bit of time just for you.  Hope you will be back here very soon!
