Well my daughter got married last week..yay it was a fantastic time for her..am soooo proud..being the brides mum and all - wow tongue
Ok..for some reason this has stirred up the old anxiety prob...sheesh I hate this..since I have been home I have struggled badly!
Over the wedding week I had to face up to things that i normally don't have to the worst being my ex husband - it was ok don't get me wrong there was no bad feelings voiced in fact we were very polite..but for some reason it brought back all the ghastly feelings etc.. eyes and since then it has taken a LOT of courage not too slip down into depression again..
Why, why, why does this happen???

Dear Maree,

Congratulations on your daughter's wedding.

I do not know why the depression sneaks back in and so quickly.I am a bit with you right now and refusing to let it suck me in, so you fight it too.

Sometimes I tell myself, this is who I am  and just practice what I  know to get past this spell. It is ok to shed some tears. You were faced with some triggers that may have contributed to this episode.

First you daughter is now married and that is a big adjustment to get through all the celebration and then when it is over, comes the let down. And sometimes those bills to pay eyes

You saw your ex and even thow your on good terms it reminds you of a dream you once had that is over.

Please be good to yourself and know that you are cared for by all  and reach out to your family of friends here.  We will pull you through.

Just take it nice and slow, one step at a time.

Many gentle hugs

Kitt

Hi JordaNZone,

I also want to add my congratulations on the happy occasion! I completely understand how you're feeling. I've been there too. It is difficult to see your kids grown and going off on their own, and it's hard at first to see the "ex". I had those problems at first as well, but now that we have 3 grandkids, it's gotten a lot easier for some reason. We've even gone to visit my ex and his new wife with the grandkids and it's been very friendly. I know this seems impossible, but over time things change... We had the most "not friendly" divorce imaginable, but once the kids started getting married and having kids, things have gotten better. I hope you'll get feeling better soon... remember all this is a big change for you... seeing your child as an adult is stressful... I know you'll do great...

Take care,

Bear
