I have seen a similar post on here but hoping for others to share their feelings.

I am 8 weeks pregnant. I suffered with anxiety and agoraphobia due to lyme disease prior to getting pregnant. I was actually just getting into therapy and doing much better, but since being pregnant, my anxiety has gotten much worse. I won't even leave the house now to go outside and I was never this bad before even on my worst day. Mostly now because I am too sick to even get out of bed and hoping that after 12-14 weeks I will feel better and can get out again, but anyone else deal with anxiety during pregnancy and find it got worse in your first trimester?

I have my first appointment next week and already know it is going to be horrible and not sure how I am going to make it through the appointment given my anxiety. I used to take ativan to calm my nerves but I can't do that now so just white knuckling it.

I also tend to wake up in the middle of the night with rapid heart racing and palpatations and it takes me a little while to calm down and realize that it is anxiety and that I will be ok, but the immediate thought of calling 911 always pops into my head and especially being pregnant my body is whacked.

Any personal stories or experience would be helpful. If you did have anxiety did it get better and how did you handle the anxiety o being pregnant on top of the general anxiety too?

Jem,

Hello, first of all congratulations.  I am sorry your having the morning sickness or all day sickness.

You are right, we have others here going through the same as you and I am sure they will be along to support and share with you.

May I suggest you look at your appointment with the plan of talking to your physician about your high anxiety?

You have my support and keep posting. (((((((((HUGS))))))))))

Respectfully

HI,

congrats on the baby!!! I am so happy for you!
As far as being Prego with anxiety. I was and it was bad!!! I always felt like something was going to happen to me. I had morning sickness really bad for the first 3 months. I could not leave the house or get out of bed without throwing up. I even lost weight instead of gaining. Once that was calming down I had prblems with my thyriod and a whole bunch of upsetting thought began rolling threw my mind. My husband said by the time I had the baby he would have no hair left. I was worried about everything! I even started having prblems with thunderstorms. I lived in houston texas and it storms all the time during the summer and I was always freaked out about them. It didnt get any better after my son was born, it got worse. Thats when I was put on lexapro and it helped so much! I am sorry your feeling stressed, just try to relax I know it's hard. Talk with your doctor about it too.
Good luck!

I am also pregnant and having a terrible time with my anxiety.  I did start taking medcaion about 3 weeks ago and I do feel finally it starting to work.. Slow, but, at least there is some improvement...

You can not go on feeling like you are comming out of your skin... It is hard enough just being pregnant, not worrying about this...

I found out I was pregnant yesterday!! and I have horrible anxiety. I wake up 3-4 times in the middle of the night get sick and go back to bed. I barely have any appetite and it scares me b/c I wanna eat for my baby. I was prescribed 50MG Zoloft but it stopped working recently and my doctor told me to stop taking ASAP. any helpful ideas on how to control this & get my appetite back?!
