out what your appointment will be like. It's the doc's job, not yours, to diagnose and treat you. Just tell him your problem and take it from there. Colonoscopy is really no big deal. If it turns out you need one, check in with the IBS board - lots of experience there in that area!
I've had at least a dozen by now, so from a veteran, there is no need to worry. Yeah, the whole idea is embarrassing, but try to remember that the doc and his assistants do these every day. They are not going to freak out by anything they see or anything your body might do during the procedure. My sister has had two scopes, and like you, was extremely anxious about
the procedure. Once she woke up, she told everyone that she'd go to "the b*tt place anytime" because she just floated on a cloud of serenity the whole day when it was over. LOL!
